iTunes Match issues on iOS 7

I have been using iOS 7 since the release of the GM. Overall, I love it - however with the music app, specifically with iTunes Match I am very dissapointed as the usability, for me has gone quite backwards.

Firstly, I have some artists in my collection with vast ammounts of albums (Grateful Dead, Phish, etc). With iOS 6, accessing those artist's albums was instantaneous. In iOS 7, it takes approximately 10-15 seconds from the time I tap the artist to being able to view the albums. When trying to return to the Artists tab, it will also hang for at least 10 seconds.

Second, once within the albums of a particular artist, there is no longer the alphabetical slider along the side which allows me to quickly scrub through the albums. When there are a lot of albums, scrolling manually through every album (and song) is quite tedious. I honestly can't believe how much of a step back this is. Albums no longer are listed alphabetically, now they are listed based on release date.

These issues have me wihing I coud go back to iOS 6, even though the rest of the new interface is great. I can't believe how much worse the music app is now. I can't believe no one at Apple has a music library containing artists with large discographies.

If there isn't a fix to these issues, I will have to cancel my iTunes Match subscription because it is simply too frustrating waiting for things to load and not being able to browse albums efficiently.

If anyone is aware of a fix, or is also frustrated by these issues, please let me know.

Does not work for me either, it has something to do with the account, I've tried to activate iTunes Match on a friends iPad using my account and it does not work, it loads but my playlists are not displayed and when I close the music app it starts loading again.

I've made a clean restore without restoring from backup and it still won't work. On my macbook it works flawlessly so does it on my hackintosh.

If I restore to ios 6 it works also.

So it has something to do with ios 7 and my account.

I've contacted apple support and they weren't much help either.

I would very much like to use the service I've paid for... Please?

FINALLY got iTunes match to work after weeks of it getting stuck "delivering results from Apple."

You have to trigger the new license agreement for it to kick in.

To do this I did the following:

1. Deauthorize your computer

2. Turn off genius

3. Turn off iTunes Match

4. Re-authorize your computer

5. Turn on genius

6. Agree to license agreement

7. Turn on iTunes Match

8. Finally, it works again.

Apple really blows right now. This is a problem for everyone I know and all these complaints here, yet Apple hasn't had the decentcy to acknowledge the problem and give us an idea of what's wrong. I don't know about you guys but I pay hard earned money to have iTunes match and up until the ios7 update my itunes match worked PERFECTLY!!! This is obviously a problem with the final release of 7 because i had all versions of the beta and it worked on them as well. Another example of "we have you by the balls customer service". I'm starting to get ******. (Rage over)

ON your Iphone/Ipad: Go to Settings: ITunes & App Store

Tap on your apple ID, sign out, Itunes match will be off.

Next on your iphone/ipad go to Settings: Music:. Look at the ITUNES MATCH slider-it should be off. If not turn it off.

On your IMAC/PC, sign out of Itunes

Restart your Iphone by pressing the home key and the on/off button at the same time until the apple icon appears. Hold it for about 10-20 seconds until the apple icon appears.

Go back to your imac/pc and sign back into itunes

Go to settings on your iphone, tap Itunes & app store. Sign on with your apple id and password, turn on ITUNES MATCH Slider. A message will appear "Enable" "Cancel"- Tap ENABLE.

Next go to Settings, tap on Music, the ITUNES MATCH slider should be on, if not, turn it on to match.

Finally, Go into MUSIC on your Iphone/Ipad. Once you tap MUSIC icon, LOADING ITUNES MATCH will start processing with a blue line, matching your Itunes Library.

This worked flawlessly for me.

I did run through this process a couple of times, and I'm still having problems. Once the blue line loads, what seems to be loaded is about 1300 random songs from my library, very few of which will actually play. If I quit and relaunch the Music app a few times, the LOADING ITUNES MATCH message comes back with a blank line, which then sits there and never fills with blue. I can sign out of iTunes Match and reboot the phone and repeat the whole process over and over again. I believe I've signed out from everywhere, and I'm still getting the same problem. I'm starting to wonder if my iTunes Match profile data is messed up at the host end. Off to see a Genius later this afternoon.

I also tried Metmaestro's solution and it didn't work for me. At least I could finally disable iTunes Match (it wouldn't stay off) by signing out and then signing back in and just not enabling it again.

Back to syncing my music manually. What is interesting is that all my music shows up under artists and I can download it, but the playlists won't show. Whether iTunes Match is enabled or not doesn't have anyting to do with it.

I'm really ******; iOS 7 came out a week ago and you can't fix it or at least address the issue? This a service people pay extra for at all! Apple has become pretty bad with those things. What happend to you take it out of the box and it just works?

Oddly, the problem came back after a week of no poblems. 😟

Once Apple "fixed" it last week, seemingly, all at once for mostly everyone, I've been fine.

All songs would play, I could download from iCloud, etc.

Yesterday, I was playing a short playlist and I noticed the last song on the playlist didn't play. I checked my iPhone and shook my head when I saw that the song looked like it was playing, but the progress indicator was at 0:00. I stopped and started, but no music. I tried other songs ON my iPhone. Nothing. This was the same crappy issue the day iOS7 came out.

I turned my phone off, then back on, and my local music would play, but if I tried to download anything from the cloud, the spinner would just spin. Never got the progress circle with the square in the center.

Turned phone off again, back on, and it started working.

Anyone who thinks their iTunes Match is fixed may be fooling themselves.
