iTunes Match issues on iOS 7

I have been using iOS 7 since the release of the GM. Overall, I love it - however with the music app, specifically with iTunes Match I am very dissapointed as the usability, for me has gone quite backwards.

Firstly, I have some artists in my collection with vast ammounts of albums (Grateful Dead, Phish, etc). With iOS 6, accessing those artist's albums was instantaneous. In iOS 7, it takes approximately 10-15 seconds from the time I tap the artist to being able to view the albums. When trying to return to the Artists tab, it will also hang for at least 10 seconds.

Second, once within the albums of a particular artist, there is no longer the alphabetical slider along the side which allows me to quickly scrub through the albums. When there are a lot of albums, scrolling manually through every album (and song) is quite tedious. I honestly can't believe how much of a step back this is. Albums no longer are listed alphabetically, now they are listed based on release date.

These issues have me wihing I coud go back to iOS 6, even though the rest of the new interface is great. I can't believe how much worse the music app is now. I can't believe no one at Apple has a music library containing artists with large discographies.

If there isn't a fix to these issues, I will have to cancel my iTunes Match subscription because it is simply too frustrating waiting for things to load and not being able to browse albums efficiently.

If anyone is aware of a fix, or is also frustrated by these issues, please let me know.

Hi all

Also an issue with iTunes Match after updating to iOS 7. iTunes just skipped every song on my iPad. No matter what playlist or view I tried playing.

Resolution: I tried downloading a song in iTunes (on my iPad). iTunes told me that terms and conditions had changed. I accepted these changes and now that sweet music is playing again.

Strange it did not prompt me for the changed conditions when opening iTunes first time after the update. Should be "easy" to implement. Well. An update without a small challenge wouldn't be fun ;)

Same issue here. It's surely not fixed yet. I spent the entire night letting the "loading itunes match" screen load. this morning same page again. I turned off and on itunes match and now my library loaded, BUT no artwork on any of them and some of the albums are completely out of whack (multiple albums of the same name within the same artist), and before doing this update my itunes match was working perfectly, every album I have has artwork, and I take really good care of my tags.

After installing iOS7 only certain songs that have been added to my iTunes match are able to stream/download on my iPhone 4S. A lot of them just freeze, have errors downloading, and therefore skip to the next available track.

Updating to iTunes 11.1, updating iTunes Match, and accepting new terms and conditions hasn't helped.

Hopefully this is just temporary because the iTunes Match servers are under strain from everyone updating and transfering over to iOS7.

In regards to the music app layour, after initially getting rid of a lot of cover art (including cover flow) due to us not using it a lot, I don't understand why Apple have gone back on that and implemented it again. I guess it looks nicer and more colourful. If the artwork was smaller then fine, but it seems like it takes a lot longer to scroll through artist albums.

Just woke up this morning after leaving my iTunes on my Mac open (with the loading iCloud icon) as well as my iPhone open on the Music app screen, and it still hasn't properly loaded any of my music. It's gotten past the "Loading iTunes Match" screen. But it did that last night, only to arrive at a completely destroyed music library. And now, after waking up hours later, am still faced with it.

I have to admit, I was thrilled about iOS 7 when I first downloaded it. But I care more about my music library (and how many hours it took me to get it perfect), than I do about animation flourishes and neon gradients. I'm too through...

No change this morning for me.

Match on my iTunes doesn't work. It thinks for a while then looks complete, but a few albums in "waiting" Match status still show waiting.

iPhone still shows "Loading iTunes Match...". I even tried buying a song in iTunes (hoping to get that agreement someone above mentioned) but while the song downloaded fine, it doesn't show up in my music library and it didn't fix the Match problem.

This *****.

The problem may not be "busy servers".

In my iTunes 11 on my PC, I turned off Match while holding the shift key. This deletes Match cache data. Upon turning Match back on, it asked me if I wanted to add my PC. I did. It then began the process of collecting library data and performing the match. Within a few minutes my iTunes library is mostly Match updated.

That tells me the Match servers aren't overloaded, and that there is something wrong in the Music app with regards to Match. Something is set wrong but unfortunately, we never get an error. It just sits on "Loading iTunes Match..." forever, or will magically turn off Match and just show local content.

Don't count on your Match working on your iPhone. At first, mine appeared to be working, except Match would never update. Try adding a new song to your library and see if it shows up on your iPhone.

I made the mistake of turning Match off then back on. Once I did that I could never get it to show all my Match music again and just sits on the "Loading iTunes Match..." screen.

There is no Match status screen in iOS (that I've seen) so you can't tell if your Match is up-to-date or just stuck in an inconsistent state. In my iTunes, while Match appears to be working, the Cloud icon ultimately winds up turning to a cloud with a "Z" (or lightning bolt?) in it, which I understand means server issues.

Same issue for me. I also noticed the little cloud on my mac with the moving lines. When you hover on it it says, "attempting to reach itunes match". It said that for a long time. This morning it is gone, but my ipad and iphone still have the loading itunes match screen. Hopefully it just has to do with the server load and will resolve itself. Its unfortunate though because we pay for this service

I have the same loading iTunes Match screen. However, it looks like Groove (which can use iTunes Match) cannot connect either. Also, my iTunes Store purchases are having a nightmare time loading up. I suspect this is server load issues, and I'll only worry about if it continues past the weekend. Unfortunately, it means I can't listen to most of my music, but Groove still works with my purchased music.

Same issue, itunes match screen stuck and cloud icon on itunes cycles until it is replaced by a Z symbol signifiying the match has failed. I have tried numerous things such as the 'update itunes match' button on multiple computers, one of which is a fresh install of 11.1 others are older versions.

Itunes match worked very briefly on my 4S, but has since stopped working again.
