iTunes Match issues on iOS 7

I have been using iOS 7 since the release of the GM. Overall, I love it - however with the music app, specifically with iTunes Match I am very dissapointed as the usability, for me has gone quite backwards.

Firstly, I have some artists in my collection with vast ammounts of albums (Grateful Dead, Phish, etc). With iOS 6, accessing those artist's albums was instantaneous. In iOS 7, it takes approximately 10-15 seconds from the time I tap the artist to being able to view the albums. When trying to return to the Artists tab, it will also hang for at least 10 seconds.

Second, once within the albums of a particular artist, there is no longer the alphabetical slider along the side which allows me to quickly scrub through the albums. When there are a lot of albums, scrolling manually through every album (and song) is quite tedious. I honestly can't believe how much of a step back this is. Albums no longer are listed alphabetically, now they are listed based on release date.

These issues have me wihing I coud go back to iOS 6, even though the rest of the new interface is great. I can't believe how much worse the music app is now. I can't believe no one at Apple has a music library containing artists with large discographies.

If there isn't a fix to these issues, I will have to cancel my iTunes Match subscription because it is simply too frustrating waiting for things to load and not being able to browse albums efficiently.

If anyone is aware of a fix, or is also frustrated by these issues, please let me know.

Mine is doing the same thing, except for once or twice when the loading progress bar completed. On those occasions, it apeears to have downloaded exactly 680 random tracks from my iTunes Match collection and then stopped. After completely restoring the phone and trying again, I got exactly the same result: fiddled with it for a while until it did appear to complete the loading process, and got no playlists and the same 680 tracks.

EDIT: To clarify, I have about 30 playlists and about 24500 tracks in iTunes Match.

Mine does the same thing. IT is only showing the songs that I have downloaded to my iPad after sitting on theloading iTunes Match screen forever. I have also been having issues with my iPad in regards to iMessage not activating and same with Facetime. Oh thank goodness I only spent a grand on this thing. Would suck otherwise if I couldn't use it for it's intended purpose.

Same problem here. I get a breif glimpse of the library then back to the loading screen. I've tried all of the fixes listed above and none have helped. I'm so very glad that I paid for this service. I won't be paying for it again. This whole update to 7 has beein a pain in the ***. I'm rapidly loosing faith in post-Jobs Apple. Might be time to look at Android when the renewal comes up.

I'll give my mileage to those of you thinking it has something to do with updating to iOS 7 or iTunes 11.1. It doesn't. Seems to be a server issue or something.

I've had match working on my iPhone and iPad on iOS 7 and my MacBook Pro and Windows laptop both using iTunes 11. My Windows desktop was functioning fine on iTunes 11. Sometime after 7pm, I got the cloud status symbol on my MacBook Pro in iTunes saying, "Accessing iTunes Match" and all my cloud music was greyed out. This morning my Windows laptop with iTunes 11 showed the same thing. My Windows desktop on iTunes 11 showed the same thing. I updated it to iTunes 11.1 and it still has the issue.

My iPhone on iOS 7 is still working fine.

Thos of you having an issue on your iPhones, my guess is because you've turned Match on (including by updating to iOS 7) after whatever is wrong with the service occurred.

Cross post reply.

I called about 2 hours ago, before I checked this forum. The guy didn't seem to be aware of any iTunes Match outage. He was convinced I'm having some kind of DRM issue with authorizing the computers to play the content. He had me deauthorize and reauthorize from my work Windows laptop, which didn't fix the problem. He suggested when I'm home and on my "main" windows PC where all my local content is stored and where I originally activated iTunes Match 2 years ago, reauthorize that PC.

After the call I came here and see all the complaints and I'm now convinced it's an iTunes Match issue, not something with my accounts.

Thinking about calling back to report this.

Has anyone gotten a chance to call Apple yet?

I did in fact call them earlier this morning. I couldn't stay on because I had a meeting to run to, but I ran the iTunes rep through everything that happened, and even went ahead and linked him to this thread.

The plan right now is to get home and call them back. I have a case number, and my issue has already been escalated to a senior engineer, who will be picking the case back up when I call back tonight to walk them through the issue on my "home computer," like crankerchick had to do. I'm on my work MBP, which is experiencing the same issues as my iMac back at home. But the person I spoke to said the engineer will undoubtedly want to troubleshoot using my source machine.

It didn't appear that they were aware of any iTunes Match server issues though...

I'm on with them now for the second time, detailing the problem and telling them of all the posts here indicating an issue. This guy is now looking at the posts here on the forum. He appears to be just tier 1 support, so I don't expect a resolution from him. I'm just reporting the problem. Again. And that it doesn't appear unique to me.

I did an online chat with them a few hours ago and was escalated to a teir 2 advisor.

They indicated that while there isn't an "outage", the engineers are aware of people having this issue and are trying to get it resolved. They also said that it does have to do with the high number of people trying to activate and server load.
