iTunes Match issues on iOS 7

I have been using iOS 7 since the release of the GM. Overall, I love it - however with the music app, specifically with iTunes Match I am very dissapointed as the usability, for me has gone quite backwards.

Firstly, I have some artists in my collection with vast ammounts of albums (Grateful Dead, Phish, etc). With iOS 6, accessing those artist's albums was instantaneous. In iOS 7, it takes approximately 10-15 seconds from the time I tap the artist to being able to view the albums. When trying to return to the Artists tab, it will also hang for at least 10 seconds.

Second, once within the albums of a particular artist, there is no longer the alphabetical slider along the side which allows me to quickly scrub through the albums. When there are a lot of albums, scrolling manually through every album (and song) is quite tedious. I honestly can't believe how much of a step back this is. Albums no longer are listed alphabetically, now they are listed based on release date.

These issues have me wihing I coud go back to iOS 6, even though the rest of the new interface is great. I can't believe how much worse the music app is now. I can't believe no one at Apple has a music library containing artists with large discographies.

If there isn't a fix to these issues, I will have to cancel my iTunes Match subscription because it is simply too frustrating waiting for things to load and not being able to browse albums efficiently.

If anyone is aware of a fix, or is also frustrated by these issues, please let me know.

This is definitely frustrating. After the update, it seemed iTunes match was working on my phone, but none of the songs would actually play. Instead, after about a second, it would jump to the next song in the playlist.

After turning iTunes Match off and on to "reset" the service, I'm trapped on the same interminable loading screen. I've tried turning off iTunes match to just drag some music onto my phone, but that doesn't work either. iTunes Match just turns itself back on.

I was already disappointed with the quality of this service and, with more than 25,000 songs in my digital library, the effort it took to curate, but this may be the tipping point. I've already turned off my automatic resubscription. I'd feel slightly better if Apple had some sort of response to the problem.

I've had the same problems. I solved it, after trying several times to turn on/off itunes match without success 😠, simply by:

1. deactivate iTunes Match in settings

2. close the music app

3. activate iTunes Match in settings

4. shut down iPhone without using the music app before!

5. restart the iPhone

After this procedure, everything is working as it should. 🙂 Hope this will help!

Its works for me on my iPhone 4s! Thx, man!

Same issue here. I'm in my office with one of my MacBooks, my iPhone iOS 7 GM for a week, and iPad also iOS 7 GM for a week. None can access iTunes Match. Everything was trouble free until this morning. Then my iPhone says Loading iTunes Match nearly all day. iPad shows all my songs (~2100), but won't play any of them. My MacBook Pro doesn't show any of my music. That's likely because this is the 2nd MBP. My home MBP has all of my music on it. Until today this one showed all my music in the cloud and I could play all tracks. Did the online chat thing but I'm at work. I don't have time to sit here and go through each of their steps. I did get the guy to admit many people are having issues, but they still don't/won't acknowledge an issue on their end. Frustrating. Also I just got back to me desk and looked at my phone. I decided to try iTunes Radio and I see the message Network Unavailable Connect ot a WiFi or cellular data network to use iTunes Radio. I am on a wifi network. I'm getting email notifications and phone calls so the problem is clearly on their end. I don't remember iOS 6 having issues like this when that came out.

This doesn't appear to be iOS 7 related in the least, but more related to trying to reconnect to iTunes Match. Some iOS 6 users are having the problem too. I'm having it on my iPod Touch running iOS 6 that I tried to enable Match on today. Basically if you lose iTunes Match connection after last night, you are screwed trying to get reconnected.

Same with my iPhone 5 (iOS7). I turned off my apple ID. Then "on".

My iTunes match was gone away from music app.

And does not seem to get back (loading iTunes Match screen : Chargement d'iTunes match en français).

Merely sure it is an Apple's server problem that will take some time to be solved.

Apple should communicate on these (frequent) malfuctions, don't you think ?

Regards and thank you.

Same with iTunes 11.1 on my Mac : no access to "clouded" music.
