Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Hello,
I used to play one genre and play all artists in that genre and shuffle songs. I can't seem to figure out how to do this in iOS7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
iPhone 5, iOS 7, Used to work on IOS 6
On the Genre list (may also work anywhere else you can search), scroll up for the search field and type the name of the genre you want to play/shuffle. The genre will appear in the search results (along with other tracks/albums most likely)
Tap the genre to see a list of all songs in that genre by album. Tap a track to play, then click Shuffle.
Works? Yes. Intuitive? Nope.
Really wish there was just an "All Songs" entry at the top of each specific genre list.
Finding the genre through search is too much hassle and I've long since given up hope of Apple reinstating genre shuffle anytime soon. I've started using an app called Picky and I actually like it more than the standard music app. It reads your iphone music library and all your playlists are available and more importantly you can filter and shuffle songs by genre, in fact you can filter by multiple genres if you wish.

Im having this problem too. Also pictures in slideshow wont shuffle. & i label genres to what i want but when synced to my phone they have the default genre names. Im done with apple. Im tired of being shafted for all these years hoping that things will change. Things will never change. A fingerprint scanner? Yeah apple doesnt care about none of us. Im going to galaxy
