Hi!
i have an iphone 4s on straight talk that i cant get work with 7.0.3. Could you please shed some light on how you got the sim swap to work with 7.0.3 and the new carrier settings? also what you meant by update settings?
Thanks!!!
I followed the basic SIM swap directions that goalpdl1 provided, but used the settings that Mac Man No longer in Japan provided. After I updated my IOS software again to 7.0.3, the APN settings from my first SIM swap was gone from the previous sim swap method. So I had to update the settings again by doing the SIM swap and it still worked fine with the new IOS update--using the settings provided by No longer in Japan.
However, since this post, I recently updated my SIM card to a newer one. My previous SIM was over 1.5 yrs old. With my old ST SIM, I had to use the UNLOCKIT APN settings for data and chose the APN for the old ST settings, because the APN for the newer settings did not work with my old SIM. But, with the newer one (purchased 10/25/13) I found that I do not need to use the UNLOCKIT APN changer to use data. The SIM swap alone works for the MMS and data. With the newer SIM, I did have to use the original APN settings information provided by goalpdl1 for this newest SIM swap.
Overall, with my old sim, goalpdl1 settings did not work, but Mac Man no Longer in Japan's did. But with my newer sim goalpdl1 settings worked and I do not need the APN changer for my data usage.
Thank You!!! i had a similar situation... two phones, one old, and one new. got both to work. exacly what i needed!
Strangely enough, all I did was remove my APN profile......And voila! Everything worked normally again. Don't know why, but hey. I'm not complaining.
I did like relivesa and deleted APN settings and everything worked fine.
awesome, thanks
here's something I found in another discusion from Ccorndog:
"I downloaded the net10 APN settings and it is working fine now; just wanted to let others know.

Hope it helps"
As he said, I hope this helps.

We will see how long it works?
Well, I'm diving in too, no TMobile sim to swap, but just downloading and installing iOS 7.03 tight now on iPhone 5. Hoping it works! Didn't have much to lose because yesterday internet data stopped working anyway for some reason. Straight Talk told me my data plan is in good shape, plenty of data. I'll report back...
Just got it installed, and it says carrier is TFW 15.6. What in the world is that? It used to say Home for Straight Talk. And still will not go online on cell service, just phone calls.
I have been using the original AT&T SIM for Straighttalk, but was getting tired of doing the SIM swap every time they updated the settings. Just purchased the "new" AT&T SIM from Straighttalk. Followed the directions for changing to a new phone (they consider the SIM as your phone in the BYOD program). Installed the Straighttalk data settings as their directions say and I have all data to include MMS working. No more SIM swap needed. It was well worth the few dollars for the updated AT&T SIM.
Thanks. I'll go to Straight Talk site to order a new ATT sim from them. That's what you did, right?
MMicro sim or the other one? I know it's nano size, I cut my current sim to make it nano, so I've done that before! But which of the two choices is the better one fir cutting?
Yes, takes about three says to get it. You can go online or call customer service to activate them put the SUM in the phone and update the data settings as per their instructions. Pretty painless overall.
**** autocorrect!
UUnderstand. I'm typing on iPad. I have iPhone 5, so takes the tiny nano sim.
hey, we lived in Japan many years. Was there last summer again.
How do you remove the APN profile?
