It is a little tricky to do because the old way no longer works in IOS7.
I found this video on Youtube that works: http://youtu.be/QegIM1KEtac
The only way that seems to work is the sim card swap method. I used a T-Mobile card I have.
Step 1: Put your T-Mobile Card into iPhone.
Step 2: Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data - you should see the APN settings that are filled with your T-Mobile data. Don't do anything with the data yet.
Here is the trick in IOS7
Step 3: Double click the home button and go to another application like notes and stay there.
Step 4: While in the notes application, swap your sim cards and add your Straighttalk ATT card.
Stay on application while the sim card looks for the network. It should go ATT first, then Home 2nd. Once it shows up as Home then...
Step 5: Double click the home button and return to cellular data - you should still see the APN settings there.
I used the following settings and they worked for me:
APN tfdata
MMS
APN tfdata
MMSC http://mms-tf.net
MMS Proxy mms3.tracfone.com:80
MMS Max Message Size 1048576
Fill in the information and you should be good to go. If you test your settings with Siri and she apologizes, it means your settings should work. Reboot your phone and you should be connected.
I had the same issue with my iphone 4s using an AT&T based straight talk SIM. I was able to use the SIM card swap method without having an app open and successfully restore data and MMS to my phone after updating to iOS7. I used the orginal att.mvno settings that have worked all along.
I have a 4s and am using an ATT Straight Talk sim card but don't have any other sim cards to swap out. Are people like me unable to upgrade then? Thanks for any info/help you can give!
The SIM card swap is the most reliable way to access APN settings and you can pick up a t-mobile SIM card on eBay for a couple bucks. Recommend you get one since over time you will likely have to change APN settings several times.
here's something I found in another discusion from Ccorndog:
"I downloaded the net10 APN settings and it is working fine now; just wanted to let others know.
http://iapnupdatetfdata.net10.com/
Hope it helps"
As he said, I hope this helps.
Please let me know if this works, I can't update to IOS 7 untill I know my AT&T Straight Talk will work.
These are the APN settings I used for my iPhone 4s on StraightTalk after updating to iOS7. I used the sim card swap to gain access to the APN settings.
APN att.mvno
Username (should stay blank)
Password (should stay blank)
MMS Proxy 66.209.11.33:80
MMS Max Message Size 1048576

I'm wondering if anyone has tried using Apple's Configuration Utility. I initially used that to get my phone set up when I bought it last Nov. I'm tempted to try and may seeing I can just restore my backup. If I do, I'll post here.
I have previously used ibackupbot to plug in custom APN settings for StraightTalk, but found it to be a bit cumbersome and too easy to miss something important. With the sim swap method, it's easy to see exactly what is being changed. Only hard part is getting to the APN settings during the sim swap. It can be a bit tricky and requires a bit of speed, but I've gotten pretty good at it over time.
I've still got that utility (Apple's Configuration one) around and am now downloading the update. I've decided to give it a shot tonight before bed... I know, not the smartest of ideas but I'm feeling lucky! 😉 I've still got the original configuration that I initially had before upgrading to iOS6 (did the Straight Talk URL trick that time instead of using the utility) and will install that once the upgrade is complete and see if it works. If not I'll give customer service a call and if I'm still having trouble I'll just restore until I pick up another sim card to try out your stated method. Keep your fingers crossed, I'm going in! 😀
Well, I just finished the upgrade and it was completely painless! I didn't even loose my APN settings!!!! I was shocked. All my icons are just where I left them, my iPad didn't do that! I made a call, sent a text and surfed the net all without issue. Not sure why it worked like this for me but I'm quite happy it did!
Does the Tmobile sim card have to be "unlocked" or can it just be any tmobile microsim? I bought one off of amazon and I got "SIM FAILURE." I think it may be expired or something.
Can I just to go wal-mart and buy a straight talk tmobile card for the swap for my At&T phone? I used to just jailbreak, but I'm new to this method.
Bought a t mobile card from wal-mart and activated it, but I get nothing but "invalid sim" when I plug it into my iphone 4.
Your method worked for me, but Mac Man no longer in Japan's settings worked perfectly! Thank you both! I can FINALLY send and receive MMS again!!
UPDATE: I updated to 7.0.3 and lost my settings and at the same time ST changed their carrier settings. I had to go back and update my settings and this method worked for me again (using the old ST sim card)!
I had the same issue using an unactivated Simple Mobilele sim and notice the sim is designed the opposite of my iPhone sim tray; meaning the slanted groove is designed for the gold piece to face upward. I had to re cut it to match my iphone sim tray.
