Outgoing Message Tone on IOS 7.. How to disable?

Since updating to IOS 7 I get a tone everytime I send a message, imessage or sms. I have been all over the settings and no where in IOS is there a place to turn off this tone or at least that I can find. Anyone have any ideas or are we going to have to live with this sound everytime we send a message?

iPhone 5, iOS 7

I would like to hear a tone for an incoming message because ya'know it's an incoming message.

But do I really need an alert to let me know that I have just sent a message?

II'm currently in an area with signal strength issues. Texts can take a long time to finish sending. The tone can be quite useful when Im texting a couple ofdifferent people, moving between conversations. Some texts are failing. The sent sound (or lack there of) is helping me keep on top of things.

That would be one point of having a sound option available to use. And I might be wrong (as I am not frequently in low coverage areas), but I think there is also some sort of onscreen message indicating that a message had failed, and maybe an option to cache the message until sufficient signal is achieved and sent out then.

But my point remains, I don't need (or in my case want) a sound PROCLAIMING that I had just sent a text message. Assuming that I have a signal/connection to a network, the outgoing message sound is not for me, but rather for the other people within earshot to know that I had just sent a text message. I don't need this. I don't want it. I could just turn ALL of my sounds off, but no I shouldn't have to do that. I could turn my sounds off only when I send out a text message, but no I shouldn't have to do that either.

I understand what you are saying Meg St._Clair, and I love you, but it would be nice to have a separate sound option for sent and received text messages.

I know it seems incredible. But a thorough search using the "Search" function did not reveal Contacts. Neither did looking around on a nearly empty phone. The cold, out-of-the-box phone didn't have it on there. Unfortunately I don't remember which operating system came installed on it. It would be difficult to verify, since "Restore" downloads new stuff.

OOkay I can attest to what Darren said. with the new iOS update it is simple to edit each individual contact that you havefrequent conversations with to a tone you prefer and then set your text tone under settings to "none" under the alert section

But this thread is about the outgoing text tone. Not the one a text makes when it comes it, something it's always been possible to change.
