iOS 7 and Audiobook Chapters

If you purchase you audiobooks from audible.com and use the audible app, chapters are still available.

I just checked on both my iPad4 and iPhone5. In each case, chapters were still available.

Yes, but I typically make my own audiobooks in .m4b format. I don't really want to be locked into one provider.

I have to wonder what Apple is thinking about when they make updates, as their end users seem to be far from their decision making.

This is a huge problem for anyone that uses apple for audio books and I hope they reconsider their mistake and fix it.

I have the same problem. Apple, if you're listening at all, please please please fix this.

This is a huge problem for me as well. It's serious enough for me to go back to the previous OS despite all the great features of iOS 7. I have to be able to find my place in the book, and there's just no way to do that with the tiny scrub bar showing the whole book instead of just the current chapter.

Apple, come on! Give us the chapter-list back! It can't be so hard. Looking for this change in iOS7.0.1, please.

Just to add a little extra info for any other people coming across this post, I can confirm that I have tried the following and they all exhibit the same problem - no chapters!

• Audiobook bought via iTunes Store after the release of iOS 7
• Audiobook bought via iTunes Store before the release of iOS 7
• Self-built audiobook file (m4b).

Just to echo everyone else's feelings - I'm disappointed too.

I have spent quite a bit of money (hundreds of dollars) purchasing audiobooks thru itunes. I just learned that ios7 removes the chapter recognition. I assume this was a mistake by Apple because I cannot fathom any actual reason for making it almost impossible to listen to my audiobooks. I am very glad that I learned about this mistake before I updated so that I can wait until it is fixed. I hope that Apple listens to the customer comments or else I will have to start buying books thru another platform. For example, I have all the audiobooks for the song of fire and ice series...these books are 40 or 50 hours long. It would be simply impossible to listen to these books without chapter divisions. How am I supposed to use a .5 inch scrub bar on my nano for a book 50 hours long?

Apple - Please fix this soon as it lessens the user experience.

When I use the Audible App on my iPhone 5 for audio books purchased from Audible and downloaded (to the phone via iTunes on the computer), I get the message "Chapter marker information is unavailable for iPod library titles" and no chapter information. This is selecting the "iTunes" tab, and not signing into my Audible account.

Have been messing about with Audiobooks on my iPhone. Found out how to get chapters. Not anything like IOS 6

Open Music. Go to audiobooks. Select Book. Start at Opening of the Book. Then press the forward or backward button and this brings to to next Chapter or Back.

Some books go Chapter by Chapter, others by Five.

Have not not tried all books.

This works for me!-- just a different interface and have to step through one by one. Might even be better -- although no random access of chapters.

The main problem that I have is that when I've lost my place I am usually in the middle of a chapter, not at the beginning so I really need to scrub to find where I was, but it's nearly impossible when the scrub bar is for a 10-50 hour book.

Also when a book has fifty+ chapters, it would be a lot quicker to pick the correct chapter from a list rather than one at a time. Especially if I don't know what the chapter number was but I do know the chapter name.
