iOS 7 and Audiobook Chapters

I have also noticed the ommision of listed chapters and have found it very frustrating trying to scrup through the entire book.

Listening to audiobooks is my primary use of my iPhone after calls and emails so this is a big let down by the new update.

Yes, this is a real pain in the butt. Having to try and relocate you place.

When they do updates, do developers ever look at the small details.

Give the update to some "hamfisted" users and they will always find the flaws

I noticed it right away. This seems like a simple fix.

Apple: give us an audiobook chapter list and make the scrub bar the current chapter only.

Ugh.... I was hoping I was missing somethign. I ran into this for the first time today also. Adding my name to the list so I can track this issue when they fix this. Please bring back the chapter viewer!!!

I was just about to update to iOS7 when I found out about the missing audiobook chapters. This is completely ridiculous and will stop me from updating which is a pity as I was looking forward to new features such as Control Centre.

Apple, how could you remove such a necessary part of audiobook functionality???????

I also would have the chapter feature back. Please apple, my major use of the phone is as an audiobook player, and I am missing the chapters

Are there any 3rd party apps that playback local audiobooks and include the chapter functionality? I know audible doesn't use local files' chapter information.

I completely agree. Like you, audiobooks are third on my list of uses for the iPhone after cell phone and e-mail. Ever try to scrub through an audiobook that's 8 hours long with a scrub bar that's only 1.25"? This is a major flaw. While it won't bring the world to a screeching halt, chapter viewing is a basic function in my book. It was a selling point over Audible. Bad move, Apple techies.

I second this question. I spent the afternoon downloading audiobook player apps, both free and paid, but haven't been able to find one that works like the native app in iOS6.

Audio books will be way done the list for anywork to be done on updates.

I too, use Audiobooks alot.

I use them to fall asleep to. It numbs the brain and I fall asleep. So chapters are very useful

I'm at a total loss about using Audible books now as well -- finding a place in an audio book is bad enough with chapters. It's next to impossible without.

I decided to try the Audible app, and it reported that chapter information is not available on the iPod app. Looking at the music app, it appears that there should be a way to display chapters. There is an icon available, but it just shows the different segments of the book, and not the chapters. Plenty of room is available for chapters, I'm wondering if the information was stripped off of the file in a new format or something.

I wouldn't think this should be a low priority fix. I'm even considering trying to go back to the earlier iOS.

yes, that's sad, true and extremely annoying. makes catching up after having fallen asleep enormously cumbersome. I must add that i had that problem before on ios6 with audiobook builder converted audiobooks, where all chapters were identically named. That's why i rebuilt a lot of them, only to find that ios7 lets me down again.
