iOS 7 forgot restrictions passcode

I have updated to iOS 7. My location services have been disabled and findmyiphone is turned on but with restricted access. However I have forgotten my restrictions pass code so am unable to turn on location services. If I try and restore iphone via iTunes it tells me I have to turn off findmyiphone first. But I can't do this because I have forgotten this restriction passcode.

Totally stuck now. Seems there is no way to reset my phone.

Any ideas?

I have the same issue.

Cannot erase from icloud as it say it is offline (it isn't !)

Cannot restore from itunes as it says I have to turn "find my ipad" to off .. but with restrictions on, all options are greyed out.

Completely stuck !

So unless apple get a fix , seems like I've lost significant functionality of a £600 ipad !

Sometimes I just hate apple devices .. seems this time they've managed to lock my ipad down so I cant use it properly. agghhh !!

I am also having the same issue, except two things to note. Using iBackupBot, I do not see a key for the PIN but I do see all the other keys that are mentioned and am able to update them.

In iTunes when I go to restore from backup, it tells me I have to turn off location services before I can restore. But of course I have this as a restriction on my iPhone and can't change it. Going in circles here 😟

I tried using iBackupBot but when trying to restore from the backup I edited I get an error... error-35. I can't restore my phone using iTunes because I have to "turn off find my iPhone", which is impossible because my passcode does not work. I am sure I did not change my passcode before the last backup; I've been using the same passcode for a long time. I was locked out of the phone after installing IOS 7 and restoring my phone from my last backup!!!

Thank you for the reply. I have made the changes to the file as displayed.

In iTunes when I try to restore from my backup I get a message

"Find My iPhone must be turned off before xxxx's phone can be restored."

Of course on the phone when I go turn off "Find my iPhone" the option is disabled, since I locked that feature with restrictions.

Any throughts?

TIA!

Tim.

Ok, here's how I solved the problem. Thanks gilsonmelo for all the help.

1. Connect iphone to mac,

2. In itunes do a full backup of the phone

3. use iBackupBot to open the backup and add the code

<key>SBParentalControlsPIN</key>

<string>1234</string>

as mentioned previously.

4. Now itunes did not want to let me restore. Got a message "You must turn off Location Services before you can restore". So I powered off the phone and put it in recovery mode (holding the home button while reconnecting the phone to the computer). It then did a factory reset and restored to ios 7.

5. Now itunes let me restore my backup and voila! passcode 1234 worked to get by the restrictions. yay!

Thanks again.!

Hi Gilson,

I'm very interested in trying your method and thank you so much for posting it. I just didnt quite understand the Plist thing. I downloaded Icopybot but I dont know how to get to the plists you mentioned. Could you be so kind to tell me how to get there and how to do it?

Thank you so much for your attention and hope to hear from you!

Cheers,

Gustavo
