My iPad 3 freezes after installing iOS 7

I think apple will release a stable version for the iPad with the new iPad mini and iPad 5 both of which will mostly come out soon.. That version will mostly be ios 7.1

i hope they release it soon... its been such a pain to use the **** ipad 😟

Same experience with 3rd gen iPad. Freezes at least twice a day. Long time to reboot. iTunes film downloads impossible: constantly saying can't download and then starts from zero after a freeze - doesn't hold what was already downloaded in memory. Ie all in all a much much less stable platform. And starting to resemble an old and glitchy windows computer!

I turned off the Background App Refresh and Safari now runs better but still have the freezing with wallpaper.

I am having the same issue and it just rebooted by itself while changing dynamic wallpaper.

Apple Feedback submitted... oh well! what else i can do now~

And the best part is.. they are going to charge me to replace the digitizer for Sgd450 when I try to send in to Apple Service Centre! I told them its a common problem after upgrade to ios 7. They really should have a trained personnel in the Service Centre!

Reboot ur ipad.......press both home and power buttons until u see apple logo come up and then release it...data is not effected.

Unfortunately, it is not as easy as rebooting the device. Even restoring it to factory default doesn't help. It will intermittently freeze. If only there is an easy way to downgrade back to ios6... Haizz...

No you cant downgrade to IOS 6 apple dont support it and bcoz restoring to factory default is last option to back to new doesnt do any good so more likely hardware are failure,u have to take back to apple store for check on it,might be fix or need a new one if not under warranty

As a registered disabled person with Autism, I rely on my Ipad 3 to express my needs, feelings, likes dislikes etc.

It has been terribly worrying as I have experienced total OS crashes, despite the updates.

Safari is the worst for crashing my whole ipad.

It is very frustrating that not even the two button restart fails!

I have apps that speak for me, stress apps that indicate what I am feeling.

Apps that show how loud things are, so I can make choices to change my environment, and avoid triggers to my meltdowns.

Please Apple sort it out, I cannot afford to purchase additional hardware as back up...without an assurance it will work.

It was apples suggestion my original purchase was exchanged for refurbished before end of warranty...I have more faults on refurb now than I ever did on the original! Started with OS5.

OK, So 7.03 update is out!

As Soon as I get home I am going to download and install.

Will it cure the Wallpaper Freeze issue in settings when choosing the picture? Well if you look on a iphone at the "Learn More" section of the update details it doesn't mention anything about a wallpaper freeze but then I never had the issue on my iphone 4s or 5.

Surely they know about this issue and have fixed it?

Time will tell, lets hope the 7.03 fix does the job.

Guys ios 7.0.3 is out!! I updated my ipad 3 and i feel transitions are faster n so far no lagging.. The wallpaper changing seems to have been fixed as changing wallpapers is faster and there is a sign which shows that the wallpaper is being set.. One thing that i have been seeing since the first release of ios 7 is the black notification centre and greyish control centre which is not how it is on the iphone where the background is a translucent image of the app in the background(see ios 7 video to see how notification centre n control centre look on iphone) but i think that the black notification centre is for all ipads or only for ipad 3 and lower whose hardware might not be supporting the translucency effect in the notification centre...

I also find the ipad is much smoother to use on ios 7.0.3.. So guys update to ios 7.0.3!!

Download ios 7.0.3! It fixes it on ipad 3 and takes 5 sec. to put wallpaper with no freezing.
