This new pastel color scheme is horrific. It's as if the color scheme was picked after the designers did LSD and watched Yo Gabba Gabba. And why is the screen so bright?!
Is there any way to change the color scheme to be darker and to tone down the ultrabright colors??
Otherwise, the new features are pretty nice.

looks like they brought the crappy Windows style to a perfect phone and messed it up a perfect operating system. I'm unhappy! 😟

My wife is a graphic designer and thinks the pastel colors are nice...and totally feminine. Although she looks forward to having them on her phone, she agrees that they are not something most men want to see on a regular basis. Apple makes great products, but their design team screwed this one up and it has to be addressed immediately.
Steve Jobs needs to come back and haunt Apple's design team until they get the iPhone back on track. He should also haunt Ashton Kutcher for totally different, although equally heinous, reasons.
By changing the wallpaper you may end up with something easier on the eyes. The link below are to three screen shots of my home page. Only the wallpaper was changed and the the color schemes went from mild to batcrap ugly. Until someone comes up with a way to create themes in iOS7, this may be our only option.

Agreed... This is horrible. Entirely to much WHITE!!! It's blinding and just looks awful. Fix it now apple. Give everyone some options to tone down the madness you call ISO 7. It's plain boring and cheap. What a disappointment!
I have the same question. I do NOT like the new color scheme one bit. This new color design looks like something a little girl would find pleasing, and I want to change it ASAP but cannot find a solution. Is there a way to get the previous color scheme even? ANYTHING is better than this.
agree, iOS color scheme is so bright and ugly. it should have an option for users to choose color they prefer. also, the floating background which try to pretend 3D, what is the purpose of it, try to be cool or help draining the battery faster... Apple...😮
I agree about the look of the new graphics. Looks very juvenile in appearance. I'm a woman and I am not upgrading to the new system until forced to. My husband upgraded to the new system and he is very dissatisfied with the appearance. The other functions of the phone seem to be operating better, which is a good thing. I've sent a message to Apple. Don't know if they will read it, or if they will care....

Choose a dark wallpaper, and turn private browsing on in safari.
Thanks for the suggestion. I just went into settings/wallpapers & brightness/choose wallpaper/stills.
There is a nice plain dark background available there. I selected it and it does seem to tone things down
a little. But in my personal photos, none of them are as dark...sigh.
I just got off the phone with Apple support. I let them know exactly how I feel about this latest "update". From the issue being discussed here to the just butt ugly overall appearance. I told them that as a 20 year MacAddict, I am sorely disappointed and that I would NOT be buying the beautiful gold iPhone 5s with the luscious beige leather case because this GUI is SO FREAKING UGLY with it's gawd awful bright, lime green and salmon red orange icons and buttons. I asked them if the hardware and software people actually worked together to produce a product with the level of elegance and taste that Steve Jobs would be proud of. The guy on the phone was nice, he told me that he was taking notes and would pass them along. He said others were calling in as well and that Apple actually does read these forum posts. I sure hope so...geez, so disappointed.
