Is there any way to change the color scheme for iOS 7?

This new pastel color scheme is horrific. It's as if the color scheme was picked after the designers did LSD and watched Yo Gabba Gabba. And why is the screen so bright?!

Is there any way to change the color scheme to be darker and to tone down the ultrabright colors??

Otherwise, the new features are pretty nice.

Please everyone - I completely agree.

Make youselves heard.

Please please please use www.apple.com/feedback and tell them the new color sheme

is horrible. Please do that.

It's really bad. It seems Apple is targetting adolescent girls and children for iOS 7.

I'm surprised they did not incude a dancing unicorn animation, floating candy canes

and a tickle-me-elmo icon that giggles when touched.

Please use the feedback link and let be heard.

Agreed Jim, I've given feedback as well. I do think there is a logic to posting on the forums on the forums as well though, there is no public acknowlegdement of the feedback process, if we post publicly it's obvious to all of us how many people are annoyed. The outside is the usual sophistication, the hardware works well, and then we get this horrible, cheap looking, visually offensive interface with absolutely no choice! I love my apple gadgets, I've had iPhones from the iphone 3, I have an imac, a macbook pro, an ipad 4 and thank goodness an iphone 4 (so I have something to go back to because I seriously can't stand looking at my iphone 5S interface). I've never before found anything about apple gear that made me remotely likely to complain. This has me seriously contemplating ditching apple entirely.

PS the feedback might be best at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

The new color scheme is horrible and infantile. It feels like I stole bozo's phone, like a kindergartner's nightmare, like someone threw up skittles all over it, like an '80's rapper spilled his spray paint on it.
Also, the white backgrounds are painful!!!

Hopefully, apple will come out with some options for those of us who are older than 3 years old.

In the interim, try using a black wallpaper and turning down the brightness in the settings. A long time ago I changed to a pain black wallpaper (just take a picture in the dark or with your finger over the lens) to keep it simple. Now I am glad I did.

Guys, if u can't stand the blinding whiteness for another min, I do have a temporary solution.

Go settings>general > accessibility> invert colors

This features basically just turn positives colors to negatives, so everything white is converted to black and vice versa. The screen would look flat and plain, but it would be easy on the eyes, especially for some of u who reads docs and google search often.

The only downside is the photos would also be inverse, but don't worry, it will go back to original once u turn off the above option. Same goes for the apps and wallpapers, my suggestion? choose a wallpaper that is simple or plain , that way, it won't mix up with the apps colors.

I agree...I especially hate the color on the iCal. You can't tell what day is highlighted and the color schemes are awful. The ENTIRE ios7 color schemes are hideous. I can't believe that is their best and brightest at work...fire the idiot who signed off on that one. If this is the future of Apple, I may have to look elsewhere. I hate uttering those words but this is HORRIBLE.

Shortly after ios7 was released, I upgraded, and my first reaction was exactly what most people have already said: the color scheme is all wrong and hard on the eyes. I was one of the people posting here and complaining. My opinion on that has grown less harsh over time, to the point that--with the exception of a few places where I wish I could set preferences for colors (notably the message threads)--I've come to like the color scheme overall. The new version gives ios a fresh face, the new Control Panel is excellent, and Apple Radio, is a nice addition.

To be of some help, I can pass along several suggestions that others here have already offered and which helped me. Under Settings>General>Accessibility, you can turn on both Bold Text and Increase Contrast. Also, if you're one of those bothered by the motion when you open and close apps, you can turn on Reduce Motion .I happen to like the special effect, but some people say it makes them dizzy.

So, I've become accustomed to the new look, and I like it. Give it a chance and maybe you will, too.

I also agree this is sorely needed. Although I like iOS 7 from a functionality perspective, I don't like the color scheme. And beyond just not liking it, I find parts of it VERY difficult to read. For example, the dark grey icons over an off-white background, as used in the "tab switcher" icons at the bottom of many apps. And then there's the characters on the buttons of the calculator app -- too small. My eyes are not what they used to be :-)

And Notes app, just to be different, has a grotesque yellow as a highlight.
