IOS 7 - Change message bubble color?, IOS 7 - Change message bubble color?

I'm guessing we still can't change the message bubble colors? It was just annoying before. Now it is a necessity.

The vivid green/white on a white background just makes it hard to see/read for SMS messages...I can go as far as saying that it hurts my eyes. The blue and white are almost as bad for iMessages. I tried inverting the colors in the accessibility settings which helpped for the messaging and made everything else unsuable.

If I can't change the colors I will have to revert the OS (same colors but with black text and less vivid gradients) or change to a phone/OS that allows for better customization/ accessability options. This really *****...I have had a iPhone for a long time.

I agree. The pale colours are too washed out for the green icons. I can barely read white on green text messages. Is there an option to select an adult colour palette?

The made blue a bubble to indicate it was sent via iMessage. If on your phone in setting if you go to read more about iMessage it talks about the two colors, but I agree that the color should be able to be set by the user, or per contact set a contact to have a certain color. I went with the bolded setting to make things easier to read and mostly send message to my wife and she has an iPhone so it is blue for me. I did wonder why some others were not blue, now I know the green way their choice and they say it makes other green with envy that iMessage is to deliver faster and has more features, but you can explain that without having to use the literal color. Hope the next update fixes that. I really HATE that the gmail does not immediately notify when emails come in and you have to either keep checking or set the polling, which will drain the battery. There are a few apps out there for gmail and it alerts right away, but cannot be set for the default mail client. I bought eNotify to set rules and it seems to alert when I get emails, but it is not an email client and does not store emails on the device and is why I chose it. It just tells me to go refresh my built in mailbox to see the emails if I want to.

Completely disillusioned with this latest update. Spent several hours trying to get back iOS 6 since I had my Phone and iPad backed up on several different computers but to no avail. I was looking forward to upgrading my fon to the 5s since I'm due for an upgrade however this latest operating system has left me disappointed with Apple, as a result if they don't give us the option to have ios6 back or have ios7 in an ios6 format I'm done with Apple. And don't even get started on the bugs this new iOS has come with. I mean its like apple took lessons from Microsoft on how to release an operating system that can't do what it's been advertised to do.....lol But that a whole other discussion. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt apple and waiting till January to give us back control of the products we own. If you don't I'm outta here and moving on. I've owned samsung products before and I can do it again..... Btw I kno samsung builds your products so I see the irony however they don't design the operating system....... YOU DO!!!

all the "real" changes, I can roll with, even If I don't care for all of them. (I liked the search all to the left), but I can roll with them, IF they were in my old io6 color scheme. I just find the new snowflake/flashlight/paper theme, way to bright to look at, font to skinny to read, with blinding neon green and red....and no way to see how my phone is charging, without stopping everything.

I hope they fix these things soon, or else it's back to android.

It's too bad Apple did not provide at least 1 alternative color scheme. My wife is sending back the new IPhone 5s (was upgrading from 4s) after seeing the upgraded software on my IPhone 5.

It's a foolish decision by Apple. If a person can't easily see what's on the phone.......they don't need an Apple product. Stupid.

A couple of people in our organization have switched to Android because of the green background with white characters is ultra-difficult to read.

Others went back to iOS 6 (not a trivial task, but is doable) hoping for an update later to iOS 7 that will allow the text to be customizable.

I think the problem we are experiencing is that f*&^%&# hipsters have taken over the world and Apple now thinks that everyone is a hipster and will like this hideous puke. Fluro lime green! Seriously. That guys suggestion of bolding the text and increasing the contrast helped a little but it didn't do anything to the fluro lime green.

The REAL problem here is that Apple couldn't care less about our issues with color. They knew (know) that there would be some blow back from people after they released a new OS. There ALWAYS is. The problem here is that unlike previous updates, we're not going to "get used to" this. Time and usage isn't going to help us be able to read white lettering on a crap-green background any easier. Seriously...who uses white lettering unless it's on black????

Until people ACTUALLY let their contracts expire and buy an Android, expect absolutely NOTHING from Apple on this matter.

At least we all learned to never, ever trust Apple with any kind of update again. I don't care if it's iTunes...I'm not updating squadouche.

No need to repeat all that have been said in this thread, whatever the Apple design guru decides to install by default, it's just a shame that there is no flexibility to move backward to the "classical" view, or provide the right tool to tune the colors and icons look&feel by ourself.

It's really a shame, because I just don't support this new look. Fortunately I didn't upgrade my iPad, but I was planing to replace it, but am now definitely questionning about moving to new Android instead..

Thanks so much Mister Apple. You lost 10 points on the satisfaction scale for a stupid color set!

Apple Iphone designers:

Your new IOS *****. You have managed to ruin the best mobile operating system in history. Apple should fire his entire designer staff immediately, really, fluo colors? are you high? or color blind? If you do not fix this monumental screw up I can assure you have lost a customer for life. Good luck with that younger crowd, I do not think they have the resources to buy a 1.000 USD cell phone, you are marketing to the worng demographic.
