"This apple ID has not yet been used with the app store."

Hello. I've created an Apple ID accout on the apple.com website so I can use the app store to update or download apps. However, when I tried to do that, the app store displayed a message saying, "This apple ID has not yet been used with the app store." To quote http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2589, "If you already have an Apple ID, you can easily use it at the iTunes Store or Mac App Store. You already have an Apple ID if you bought something at the Apple Store, registered your product online, or used the My Apple ID page." I am very confused, because I know for sure that I have bought a MacBook Pro (10.8.4) in Hong Kong some weeks ago. Here is a procedure of my attempt to get XCode:

1. I wish to get XCode

2. I enter my Apple ID and password just as I do to log in to apple.com

3. ???

So what is the meaning behind this? Do I restart my computer? Is it because I bought my MacBook Pro in Hong Kong that I must register an Apple ID in the Hong Kong Apple website (which, in my personal opinion, is a bit absurd)? What do I do? Please help.

I went through same process. Apparently you cannot go in without giving your credit card information. So here is one trick.

Go in with your original id when it asks for review.

Enter your card information and create the account

Open itunes and go in to your account.

Your card will be mentioned there. Edit information and remove card.

Card information is not saved anymore and account is created. No need to do anything else.

Change or remove your payment information from your iTunes Store account (Apple ID) - Apple Support

i have done with the created with Apple ID,but it always to show me i'm not yet to review with the apple ID information yet . so i don't how can i do if you every body knewn more about that please feel free to tell me attandant tks..

I am getting the same thing. I go through "view account" proccess, enter everything in and yet still tells me to contact customer support.....I think I am done with apple.

Yes, that is happening to me. I just got my phone today. I'm not sure what's wrong with Apple.

There is no wall when you are smart enough to use the ecosystem correctly. 99% of the issues here are user error. And if you read the post, the OP understood his error. Now just dimwits are left to rant against Apple.

I am having the same problem. My son got an ipad mini and I am setting it up as a new ipad. I try to sign in with my apple ID and it brings me to an UPDATED ID page that says I must use an email address. I tyoe in my email address that is associated with my apple ID and I get the same friggin message

Thia apple id is alrady being used. If this is your account, reset a forgotten password at blah blah blah.

I am not using an icorrect password. Can Apple make things any more difficult? This is why I will never buy an Apple ANYTHING for myself. Its idiotic that I cannot rurn this thing on and just use it without struggling with Apple's red tape.

OK Genuoises, tell me what I am doing wrong. I am dying to find out.

ive got the same trouble too, when i sign in on itunes, it displayed a message saying "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store" when i click "review" it shows me a credit card information, but i dont have any credit card, can someone help me to sign in on itunes without using any credit card?
