iOS 7 iMessage and FaceTime

I downloaded iOS 7 and now I can't activate iMessage and FaceTime! Every time I try to activate it a sign comes up that says "could not sign in, please check your network connection and try again" thing is there is nothing wrong with my network connection. I even tried changing my Apple ID and it still doesn't work! How do I fix this and get it to work?

I do hace that back up and still nothing! I'm guessing this problem is with iPhone 4s because my wifes iPhone 5 has no problem and most comments Ive seen are for iPhone 4s

The issue is clearly not device specific as people have reported it for iPhone 4, 4s and 5, and iPad. It is also not new to iOS 7 as it has been reported previously. Often the troubleshooting steps in http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4268 will fix it, or if not, a restore (either from backup, or as new) usually does the trick.

If the suggestions in the Apple article do not fix it, and restoring from a backup does not fix it, the only remaining option (other than taking it in to an Apple Store) is to wipe it and restore it as new.

After HOURS of trying to fix my phone I restored to backing my phone up in iTunes

Step 1 plug iPhone into computer

You will have to unlock you phone and it will ask you if you trust your computer/laptop obviously click trust!

2. Go to FILE> DEVICES > sync iPhone/iPad

3. Transfer purchases from 'iPhone'

Wait till that's done

4. Then click BACK UP

Wait till that's done.

Unplug your phone

5. Go to Settings > General> scroll to the bottom > Reset > Erase all content and settings.

Two signs will appear asking whether you want to erase your iPhone click Erase, twice.

Your phone will restart, go through all the normal settings at the beginning such as language and country.

It will ask you a few settings down how you want to restore your iPhone ( I found iTunes more reliable)

( you also have the option of restoring from iCloud, it's up to you)

6. Plug in iPhone

7. On your iTunes it will ask you if you want to restore it from earlier, click that.

This will take about 15 minutes hopefully

Keep your iPhone plugged in when it has been restored and iTunes will sync your phone and you'll get all your apps back!

That's how I managed to get everything to work, sorry for the detailed description it's incase someone doesn't know how! Hope this works for everyone <3

I have a different problem. It is a FaceTime problem nonetheless.

Usually in iOS6, I had the option of choosing to FaceTime a mobile phone number or an email. These two options were available no matter if the email and the number was stored under the same contact name.

However, after the update, I find that there is only one FaceTime button per contact regardless of how many emails or phone numbers I have stored for that particular contact.

The problem here is that sometimes FaceTiming a phone number or an email is different. For example, my sister has an iPhone and an iPad. I would FaceTime her iPhone with her number and FaceTime her iPad with her email. (The same is true for MANY of my contacts).

Since there is no option to choose between entries anymore, I have to create separate contacts for the same person in order to FaceTime each of their devices. Smh...

Is anyone experiencing this? If so and you've found/know a solution other than creating multiple contacts for the same person please reply.

Thanks
