Exchange Email not working after iOS 7 update
Almost everyone who updated to i OS7 today can't connect to our Exchance 2010 server for email. Has anyone else had this issue or know of a way to fix it?

I agree with you WJC_IS. Even though it is an issue with iOS7 and not the Exchange server, the workaround can be a temporary solution until Apple get its activation process working again.
We have an Exchange Server 2010 and so far we had no problem with our users who upgraded to iOS7. I can only imagine how frustrating it can be to my fellow IT people.
A security flaw in iOS 7 that lets anyone bypass the lockscreen passcode and access sensitive information stored in photos, Twitter, Contacts, Email and more.........
This hack is confirmed to work on an iPhone 4/4S/5 and Currently iPad Mini, that’s running iOS 7.....
Your reply is off topic. Stop hijacking threads.
Settings, General, Reset, Reset Network Settings. Fixed it for me as well as others in my organization.
THIS WORKED!!!! Thanks mhcu. Much, much, much appreciated. 🙂
I ran into this issue today. If you are connected to the wi-fi in your office, it generally will not connect to your exchange server. Turn off the wi-fi on your phone and/or ipad and connect via the 3G or LTE connection. This fixed it immediately for me. Apparently this is due to the server not knowing how to search internally how to connect to itself, but a cellular connection "knows" how to find the exchange server....Hope this helps.
Brand new iPhone 5s had this problem today. Wouldn't connect to our Exchange 2010 server over cell network or WiFi. Reset network settings as suggested by mhcu (Settings, General, Reset, Reset Network Settings) and the phone connected to Exchange without issue. Thanks for the tip!
I despair ... No solution will help. Are there any other ideas? I have tried the following:
Two iPhone's (5 & 4S) with iOS 6.1.4 now also gets no connection to Exchange Server 2010. The last two days all devices worked (2x iOS7+ 2x iOS6.1.4). But now :-(
I would go into the accounts for user via OWA mail. Go to Options - See All Options - Phone - Select the phone - Start logging. Try to connect the phone email. Then stop logging, which will send the log to the email account. Perhaps this will give you and idea of what the problem is and post it here.
The details button will also give you a summary of the current status. Look for
Access state: | Access Granted |
Access set by: | Global Permissions |
i had the same probelm and i found this thread, tried everything written here without luck.
eventually i found an ActiveSynce error in the logs and followed it to here:
that solved my problem.
i have no idea if its even related to the iOS7 upgrade or is it just a coincidence.
in my case it was an iPhone 4 and an iPad Mini with a Mixed 2003\2010 exchange enviroment.

I am an Exchange 2010 admin and former network admin. None of these tips worked.
Upgraded to IOS 7 on launch date and everything worked fine for 3 days. My phone stopped connecting just after midnight on Saturday.
Failed:
1. Delete mail account on iPhone and recreate.
2. Close mail app and power cycle.
3. Use "Reset all network settings". Had to re-connect to local wi-fi with password.
4. Deleted iPhone from OWA
What worked:
1. Turn off wi-fi. Turn on wi-fi.
Step 3 under fialed should have accomplished the same thing.
Hi,
if the other steps wont work for you, try to reset activesync binding on exchange server and recreate profil on device. I have written a post about resetting activesync binding for exchange 2010 and 2013:

same issue here...
Exchange 2010, MobileIron MDM, Ios 7 phones can get email but can't send.
no error on phone email looks like it went but doesn't show up in sent items.
ios 6 devices no issues.
I had the exact same problem this morning when I upgraded my iphone 4 to ios 7 - hence, no contact to the exchange account that I use to get my emails from.
So, suppose it does not help to do anything with the settings on the iPhone - I should just go and ask my server administrator to follow your procedure and hopefully it will help...
Hope Apple will come address this issue soon!
Problem repeated itself on 4G Saturday evening. Solved it by going into Airplane Mode (disables 4G), wait 30 seconds, then go on-line (turn off Airplane Mode).
Definitely a strange bug. Maybe Apple has issues with TCP/IP sequence numbers or assuming the connection is already established.
