Exchange Email not working after iOS 7 update

Almost everyone who updated to i OS7 today can't connect to our Exchance 2010 server for email. Has anyone else had this issue or know of a way to fix it?

The same issue here, installed iOS7 on iPhone 4 and iPad 2, Exchange Email account not working anymore afterwards. Tried all the things recommended here, but no success. I cannot just change the configuration on the Exchange Server itself, this is a business/company server, hence nobody is allowed just to make chnages to it, because Apple came along with an update.

I do not understand why (again) something which worked before the update does not work after the update.

I called the Apple support hotline, but that was rather useless, because of blah blah blah...

It is really frustrating!

Similar issue here. I migrated to an iPhone 5S and restored my device from the iCloud backup. My corporate email config did not come across (Exchange account with MobileIron MDM) but all other email accounts did - these worked fine.

Enrolled with my corporate email + MobileIron this morning and successfully configured work email. My work email comes through correctly but now all other Exchange accounts are now reporting 'cannot get mail. cannot connect to server'. This is limited to email accounts configured as Exchange; IMAP accounts work fine.

In discussions with IT to determine if this is a MobileIron/MDM policy issue...

I figured out the problem with mine. It's not an Apple issue or MobileIron, it's related to a change Google made months ago.

Google discontinued Exchange ActiveSync support for standard users, requiring you to be a business customer ($50/year per mailbox). All devices already enrolled in ActiveSync were allowed to continue, but no new devices (such as the 5S) can be enrolled.

Alternative is to use CalDAV/CardDAV (Settings -> Mail -> Google) for Calendar & Contacts, and the Gmail App for mail. Or you can use Gmail IMAP for mail but it won't be push.

Hope that helps some people.

Apple is aware of it, they just aren't making it public knowledge because it's a bug in their new iOS. Anyone using passcode enforcement on Exchange will see this problem. It will work for a while, but if the phone sits idle and is locked, it will report bad passcode status back to the Exchange server/MDM. If you are using Exchange or any MDM to enforce passcodes, at this point you'll be blocked from getting mail. Lots of ways to reset it to make it work again, but it'll only be temporary until Apple puts out a patch.

Just ridiculous that they released it with a flaw this big.

We have been having a similar issue with IOS7 clients unable to connect to Exchange. In our environment, we have Exchange 2010 service pack 2 rollup 5r2. We've been working this issue with Microsoft and they have pointed out this kb article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2800133 . As it turns out, we had just applied rollup 5r2 a few days before IOS7 was released. We are seeing high cpu loads coming from the activesync process on our Exchange CAS server. At times, the elevated load from IOS7 devices that cannot sync has caused other activesync clients to fail (ie. not sync or be unable to establish an activesync partnership) as well. The theory we're pursuing is that the IOS7 upgrades in combination with the bug in rollup5/6/7 may be causing our IOS clients to be unable to sync. We will be working towards getting SP3 installed on our CAS servers as soon as possible to see if it will address this issue. We are unable to reproduce the problem in our test environment where there is no load.

Also, we tried the 'Set-ActiveSyncMailboxPolicy -Identity:Default -IsDefaultPolicy:$false' command and initially we did see some IOS7 devices start to sync but soon we realized that many other devices were no longer able to sync... so I advise caution in following this advice... in our case, it actually made matters worse and even after undoing the change, most activesync devices were unable to sync until our CAS servers were rebooted.

Rebooting our CAS servers does allow a fresh set of activesync devices to begin syncing.

We're not out of the woods yet but hopefully this info may help someone else experiencing this issue.

I had the same issue where I could recieve exchange mails but not send them after upgrading my iPhone 4, no problems sending or recieving from Yahoo account. I reset my Network Settings, which worked perfectly, but it wiped the names of my phone contacts, kept the numbers !!! I then completely a restore and got my contacts back, but now I cant sent mails from Exchange again.

Any ideas.

My Exchange is sending and recieving e-mails/calendar appts, etc on my phone fine however if I flag an e-mail on the phone it does not flag on other devices. If I flag on my webmail or work pc on my work network it does flag on the phone however. This started as soon as I upgraded to an iphone 5s, however was not happening on my 4s with ios7.0 All other exhcange functions seem to be working fine.

I've already:

Reset Network Settings

Connected or Disconnected from several wifi networks

Re loaded the e-mail account several times.

Any Thoughts?

I spent four hours on this and it was a random problem on the clients' Exchange 2003 server. Some accounts worked and others did not. We tried the suggestion here, namely:

Reset the network connections on the device: General, Reset, Reset Network connections.

(This worked but it was only temporary in many cases and the account locked up again).

Looking at the server logs we could see that it was an authenication issue. We installed the MobileAdmin.msi and dropped the password policy for the phones . IIS admin was then restarted and the accounts started to work.

As I write they still are working as we have had no subsequent calls. But this is really not ideal and one would hope Apple will provide a working fix very shortly. Hope it helps someone.
