Almost everyone who updated to i OS7 today can't connect to our Exchance 2010 server for email. Has anyone else had this issue or know of a way to fix it?

Thanks for this tip! All of a sudden all my mail refused to send, iCloud and Exchange. I could here the whoosh but no sent mail. Quit the app completely and now sending is fine again. Added benefit was it also fixed the problem where when trying to highlite or select text off the screen, the window would not auto scroll as I dragged the select handle off screen. Pulling the select handle down or up off screen now scroll the window and selects the text again.

On an iPhone 4 and overall the upgrade is working great and performs just fine for me. Glad I upgraded.

After installing iOS7 on my iphone 4 my e-mail stopped working. I just kept getting the message 'server connection error' and 'cannot get mail' and when I tried to sync my iphone with my Mac no mail was picked up.

This is how I eventually solved the problem:

1. Backed up iphone to Mac

2. Checked I had correct password for setting up my email account

3. Deleted my email account from my iphone

4. Re-booted my iphone (by holding down central control button & power button simultaneously for 10 seconds)

5. Added my email account to my iphone (which requires account password)

This process wipes out any previously saved messages and effectively starts up your e-mail account from scratch (so it is important to back up before starting if you want to keep any messages).

NB. To delete email account: Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>[Your email account]>Delete Account (at bottom of page)

To add email account: Settings>Mail,Contacts, Calendars>Add Account>Choose from the list (includes 'other' at the bottom) & follow prompts from there.

Well, not sure if this will fix the issue for you, but I thought I post what was the fix for my company. We are on Exchange 2010 SP3. I am one of the Exchange Admins, I have tested this on my iPhone with iOS 7 and an exec's phone with iOS7. We had to type out the full domain fqdn in caps. For example, FULLDOMAIN.LOCAL. In iOS6, I use to just use fulldomain with no caps. Hope this helps others.

Met same thing today after moved users from Exchange 2007 -> 2010 SP3

Seems that when user is moved from 2007 to 2010 Inheritable permissions check box gets cleared.

Our solution was following:

- Open AD Users and Computers,

- In "View" menu check "Advanced Features"

- Open user properties

- Click "Security" Tab

- Click "Advanced"

- Check "Include Inheritable permissions from this object's parent"

- Click OK and OK

After that sync started working.

This solution worked brilliantly for my company. Note that you have to do this for each individual user thats having this issue. We found that newly added (new hires) had this issue. Thanks so much bitzer223!

Pauletta, that fix worked for my user! My user has an iPhone 4S with iOS 7.0.2. Nothing else worked, did your fix and now they are able to send. Previously they were able to receive and not send. Worked beautifully, THANK YOU!

Edit:

Some more details. We're using Office365. We were on our own Exchange 2010 server but we migrated over. Issues have been pretty isolated but this came up with one of our executives this morning so a fix was mandatory.

Again, thank you!

Now we have found out what is wrong: Apple has definitely changed the protokoll and ports for Active Sync. We have had to re-configure the Firewall and now the Exchange Email Accounts do work again on the iPAd and iPhone with iOS 7 installed.

Thanks Apple for notifying us (YOUR bloody clients) about necessary configuration changes!

This was an example for the arrogance and ingnorance of Apple!

We had issues after upgrading to iOS 7 with Some users not able to get their mail. However, it wasn't all iOS7 users that were having this problem. Some users had multiple exchange accounts on the same server and one account would work where the other would not. Followed many of the suggestions in this thread.

Suggestions I tried that DID NOT FIX the issue

-updated to iOS 7.0.2

-enable then disable wifi

-change exchange password

-reset iOS device

-deleted and recreated mail account in iOS

-toggle airplane mode

-reset iOS device network settings

-rebooted exchange server and services

Solution:

Go into the affected users OWA and go to option-manage myself-phone

The problem ended up being that the maximum exchange partnerships per mailbox is 10 which had been exceeded. The new phone tried to create an additional partnership but the limit had been reached. I deleted several old partnerships, and the mailbox started working after going in and out of the mailbox a few times.

From Powershell you should be able to use:

When going to OWA I deleted my iphone from the list (I only had 1 partnership which was my phone). Then deleted the exchange account on the phone. After re-adding it OWA caught my iphone with no errors and everything is looking good. After doing this I tested my mail again. I still cannot send emails through exchange. But the fix that has worked for man and many other people still worked. It is extremely simple.

Solution:

After adding the exchange account open up mail and test if you can send messages. If you cannot then exit out of mail (press home button). Then kill the process (Double click the home button, then swipe up on the mail app to stop mail completely). Now open mail again and test if you can send messages. It works every time for me. (It seems too easy to work but its 100% so far for me on multiple devices and users.)

My Exchange environment is Office 365, so my Exchange is hosted. I started with 7 users that were experiencing problems with ActiveSync. Phones impacted are iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. All phones with issues conneceting to Exchange are running iOS 7.0.2 11A501. I also have plenty of users that are running different model iPhones with iOS 7.0.2 11A501 that are not having any problems at all.

After resetting passwords, rebooting devices, clearing all partnerships (even though none of my users had more than 4), & resetting phones. I am left with 4 users with iPhones that just will not work, and 1 that may be working (still testing).

Of the problem phones I can see only 1 thing in common, OWA for Devices on iPhone.

My 1 that is stil testing had his phone reset by Apple support. Yesterday he had the OWA app, & today he does not. This user contacted Apple support and worked with them for a couple of hours last night. At the end Apple support rep says "Since the exact same issue has occurred while on a new Operating system, it make me lead to believe that their is some settings on the email account causing this issue."

I disagree with Apple rep because I added the user account that he was working with to my Android phone this morning, and have been sending and receiving mail without issues. As of today, my user has added his Exchange account back to his phone twice. Once this morning, then had the issue again after working for about an hour. Then again this afternoon. So far so good as far as I know.

I have also been working with Microsoft support to verify everything is operational. All the Exchange ActiveSync connectivity tests pass for all my problem users. No special restrictions. No special policies.

Can anyone else confirm whether or not your users have the same app installed on their phones?

I wonder if this is an application issue, an iOS 7 issue, or just the cobmination of the two items that is turning out to be a problem.

I'm just reaching here, but I have nothing else. I know for a fact that it is NOT an Exchange issue alone or it would be affecting my Android users as well. I also know for a fact that it is not just an iPhone or iOS issue, or ALL of my iPhone users would be having the same problem.

Thoughts?
