remote app rotation locked in portrait orientation after iOS 7 upgrade

I tend to use my iPad 2 exclusively in landscape orientation. After the upgrade to iOS 7 the Remote app that controls Apple TV from the iPad is stuck in portrait mode and I can't see a way to rotate it. Any thoughts?

While this feature mightn't be reinstated, I'm not of the opinion that its been intentionally removed. Remember its the OS we've updated and not the app.

Unless they've since included a blacklist of apps which are denied rotate capabilities I see this as being a simple API change which has broken functionality. Why that hasn't affected other developers I don't know, although I guess Apple may have used an otherwise undocumented API. It would be ironic if they've fallen foul of their own policy of vehemently dissallowing the use of undocumented calls.

Anyway, that's my spin on things. Eitherway I'm equally as annoyed as you guys, my perfect[feeling] audio setup has been left in tatters!! Well, that's how it feels anyway 😉

Agree, a bug, an oversight. The other thing I noticed is that there is a column of dots on the right hand side which ought to have letters to let you jump to that place alphapbetically, but there are no letters. I'm hoping this is not related to the default of the music app presenting list view rather than the old grid view. I'm hoping I just haven't found grid view there yet. Or it is yet to come.

Pretty sure this is a bug... a BIG bug actually... I noticed that if you use Apple TV and have your iPad set on mirroring, whatever orientation you open remote in, will be the way it appears on the screen. If you open in portrait, it will be in portrait mode on your screen, but, if you open in landscape, it will be in portrait on your iPad, but appear sideways in landscape mode on your TV.

Use my ipad as remote for all multimedia, like samsung tv, mac mini and audiostuff. Everything worked great, but why does updates always change the look and feel en feed frustrations. Now the rotation to landscape is blocked, only portrait. Hate this stuff. But, in the end, if we keep on complaining, things will work out fine. Still in love with Apple, there is no decent alternative. Hang in there....

I have the same problem.... I hope this isn't a sign of more problems yet to be realized.... How could this be overlooked? If it is because of conflicts with other apps that are installed, then I am not impressed... that is a MS Windows issue, not IOS... I will be patient yet, I am not impressed with some apps not behaving as they have with IOS 6.etc..
