Right Here goes.

I think I have cracked this problem after much messing about.

I had several songs that would not delete from the phone. I did everything that has already been suggested which left 6 songs remaining that would not be deleted.

Firstly, you will have to upload the songs from Itunes to your phone. I did it from Itunes, selected music and found the Albums. Selected the Albums for upload and then clicked on APPLY.

Once the upload had taken place, I then un checked the box next to the album and then clicked APPLY

This worked for all bar One song.

The problem was caused by the fact that at some stage I had deleted the song from Itunes but had kept the file and not sent it to the recycle bin.

I then had to go to the Itunes media folder, find the song and reload it to itunes, and then repeat the procedure as above, and hey presto, no more problems.

I hope this makes sense as I am not very good at writing instuctions

Best Wishes 🙂

Changepc's instructions worked for me, for the most part. I had to 'download' some of the songs a couple times, then delete using swipe a couple times before they finally disappeared after "show all music" turned to off.

One small difference from changepc's instructions, I didn't have to to step 3 after downloading. I swiped right to left without leaving the music app after downloading and was able to see the delete button, but like I said it didn't always work the first time.

Brutal.

Clyde C's fix worked for me. It would not let me delete certain songs, even after I turned off show all music and downloaded them again from the cloud. I went to itunes on my phone and logged out, waited a few minutes and logged back in. the songs that would not give me a delete option, are now gone.

i think i stumbled onto a solution.

the upgrade to os7 brought a bunch of music into my phone i didn't care to hear anymore.

(free downloads from the itunes twitter feed..some of them are good, most of them i normally delete immediately)

i had 3 pesky songs that would not allow me to delete.

every other song in my library gave me the option to delete, just not the ones i never wanted to hear again.

..super frustrating when the song keeps starting over everytime you touch it while scrambling for a delete option.

they were purchases which i'd hidden.

i plugged to computer and tried to use iTunes to delete but they did not appear.

all "show all" options for music and video were off.

itunes match was off.

all automatic downloads were off.

"show all music" was off.

i logged out of my apple ID for several minutes.

i think this may have given time for my account to resynchronize the items i didn't want to see anymore.

i've logged back in and they're still gone.

i don't care if i hear a new eric clapton song again for the rest of the year thank you.

As a return iphone user after a long run with Android, I am shocked at how awful my experience has been with itunes and itunes match. I have to jump through hoops just to remove the music from my iphone, and lets not get started on the exerience of getting music to icloud. Apple in previous years would never had issues like this.

Ever since I made the major mistake of downloading iOS 7 I too have been suffering at the hands of the quirks and ticks of the new set up, direwolf09 has gone through pretty much what I have been doing since Thursday! After the upgrade I ended up with every single song I have purchased on my iphone, some of the music belongs to my eldest daughter (see Justin Bieber problem) with no way to delete any of the songs, and was basically tormented by trying to delete Justin Bieber & Moshi Monsters from my music library!

Anway, having gone through rings of fire, what I ended up having to do is:

go to itunes and sign out of my itunes account, power off phone, power on phone and hey presto Justin etc had disappeared. All good, until this morning on the school run my Iphone decided to start randomly shuffling all songs and then deleted every single song! Over 1,000 songs gone! Having scoured on-line communities, apparently several people have suffered this fate, and below, I think is the problem;-

ICLOUD!

Basically, since the IO7 upgrade the majority of your itunes purchases are held on your icloud, when you look at albums on Music you wll see the little cloud with the arrow - this means it's not actually on your phone, it doesn't exist until you physically tap that cloud and download it to your phone.

Sync your iphone to MAC/PC, make sure in settings that 'show all music' is switched on, now sort through the music on your iphone and MAC etc, you may have to physically upload some songs back across to your iphone - I know I did.

Now, you will have to go through all the music on your phone and tap the little cloud, this starts the download, once finished you will see the music dowloading onto your phone from Itunes - mine is currently going through it all half an hour later and still going!

Once you have done all of this, go back to settings and turn off 'show all music' and you should be good to go!

Easy right and I mean what else do we have to do all day with our time but to sit around solving software nightmares sent to us by Apple!

Equally I still don't know how to delete a individual track and whether or the phone decides to delete everything again tomorrow morning, your guess is as good as mine!

I too am also suffering lock screen problems since the updrade - tyring to switch off the alarm in the morning, slide lock screen means you end up with half screen showing the alarm and the other showing part of the lock screen! And don't even start me on Siri!

It's shocking, my phone is wrecked since IOS7

Ok, so I agree with most of this but i was unable to get rid of the album covers from my phone. I'm not 100% sure this was the answer but I signed into my iTunes account on my computer. I found the albums and deleted them TWICE. The first time deletes the album but puts the cloud sysmbol next to it. The second time asks if you want ti hide it. if you check under iTunes in the cloud > Hidden purchases > music you should see the albums. I then synced my phone but the covers remained. I disconneceted and reconnected the phone allowing itunes to automatically sync and all of the troublesome albums are gone.

Hope this helps someone.
