iOS 7 camera filter

When I take a picture using one of the new filters and then import it to my macbook using iPhoto, the photo that appears in iPhoto is different from the one that shows up in my iphone (the one in the iPhone has the filter, the one that's imported by iPhoto is the same photo but without any filter applied). Is there a way to make it so that imported photos keep the filter once imported? Otherwise I don't see much point in having the option to apply filters when you can only see them with the iphone.

I am having a similar issue with "filtered" pictures. On the iPhone and my iPad Mini, the pictures look filtered in either the camera roll or Photo Stream. However, when I get home and open either Aperture or iPhoto on my iMac, while the pictures are there in Photo Stream, they are NOT filtered. Only way to get the filtered version to my iMac was to email them from the iPhone.

I've been text messaging them to myself. I'm not concerned about the original, if I was, I wouldn't use the filter in the first place. Even using the filters on existing photos (edit function) doesn't save the filtered version. This seems like a failure in prioritizing, i would much rather be able to save the filtered version than worry about the original. Smh

Did find this article and it leads me to believe that what is causing this issue is that the filter effects are non-destructive (meaning you can change/remove them afterwards like using Apple Aperture or Adobe Lightroom). So I would guess that the files that my iMac (Aperture and iPhoto) are seeing don't have the necessary information embedded to tell the program about the filter.

Another way - the one I am using - is to set up a "shared Photostream" on your iOS device and then set up Aperture/iPhoto to share that stream. Works fine - and the file size is the same as if you emailed it. Good enough work-around until Apple comes up with something better.

Now....if someone could figure out how to let other apps see the filtered versions ON the iPhone. I use Google+ and Snapseed (both Google apps - hum???) and neither see the filtered versions. I would think this is something for Google to work on as Instagram and Flickr's apps both see the filtered versions.

Ahhh really frustrated. I am an avid iphone photographer and on a really amazing trip used the new iPhone filters and took over 1000+ just downloaded the photos on my MacBook and set the import to erase all photos on my iphone. I just discovered that none of the filtered photos transfered over.

Is there anyway that the newly importanted photos on my MacBook has a record of the filters or anyway to get the filtered photos back? Thanks so much.
