I don't know how to delete my songs that I want to delete on my music
iPhone 4, iOS 7, It won't let me
So is there no way to delete a whole album anymore? IOS 6 you could swipe a album and delete it. You mean to tell me i j have to delete each song indivisualy?
Those directions have been posted before, without using a link. Unless it was fixed in the last few days, those directions don't work. What I have noticed; at least for me. If you skip the songs, it doesn't try to play them again.
You can't swipe and delete at albums anymore. Only individual songs.
What do you mean? I was able to delete all my purchased music following the instructions.
But if you turn show all music again, it brings the songs back. We are trying to get the downloaded songs, we don't want in your collection to not reappear.
Hey I had the same problem, but it is fixed. Here is how you can do it too
1) Go on Settings-Music-& make sure Show all music is shown
2) Go back to your Music app and download all the songs that are on the cloud
3)Go back to Setting- Music - now turn off Show all music is shown
4)Go back to music app and just delete the songs you downloaded from the cloud and they are gone forever
hope this helps!
This is somewhat helpful, but there is one element that I found to put the final nails in the coffin for this problem: Logging out of iCloud.
I had used the steps you outlined ad nauseum, with no effect. Certain songs would just always show up again. But one change finally did the trick: Before doing anything, I logged out of iCloud and iTunes. Then, I cleared all music from my iPhone through Settings, to the point where Music reported "No Data." Next, I logged back in, making sure to keep "Show All Music" toggled off.
Lo and behold! It worked! The songs that seemed to seep back in disappeared, and I was able to finally control exactly what music appears on my iPhone. Happy day!
Hey APPLE,
Why hasn't this been fixed yet?!? If we stream a song from our cloud of purchased songs, it is being cached on our phone... Just like all the photos we see in facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest, etc... Why can't we delete the caches of temporary data on any of those apps, AND especially on the iOS's very own music app?! Seems like a no-brainer to me.
Why do iPhone users still need to jailbreak their device in order to clear caches on all of these apps?!
I figured out the simple solution. If the music app and iTunes : where truly synced, then when you hid your purchases in iTunes, they wouldn't show in the app. Unfortunately that isn't the case. Apple here is the solution, update the music app.
I have tried all of these solutions, except deleting everything and starting over. That is rediculous! Chances are, the song will find its way back on anyway. The other solutions "appear" to work, but as soon as I start playing my music, the song pops back on.
This is a song my wife downloaded onto her phone. It shouldnt be on my phone. I should be able to delete it. This song starts with an "A". Everytime i hook my phone up in my car, the music app automatically starts up, playing this song. I hate this song. I am hating this song even more each day.
APPLE! Fix this problem!
My question is - do the cached songs take up the same space on the phone as a regular downloaded song? That's the only reason I want to delete them - my phone does not have that much space on it and I need to keep deleting songs I've downloaded from my library through iTunes Match to make room for others I want to listen to. If the cached songs are really just up in the cloud and not taking up space on my phone, I won't worry about it.
guys, none of these have worked for me. First because I've never purchased any music from itunes store, so this "show all my music" button doesn't make any difference to me. In fact, I AM able to delete my songs from my phone by swiping to the left, but I need to do this FROM MY ITUNES, and after IOS 7 update, it won't allow me to do it, neither delete them, edit them or, even more frustrating, create and organize a new playlist.
I REALLY need this feature on my itunes, otherwise my iphone is useless for me to listen to music...
ideas, anyone?
This solved my issue
Thank you! Easy and painless are what makes apple apple... consider this ball dropped apple. Can we get some help?
Thanks! This and a reboot is what it took to finally get rid of the two songs that remained after I turned off the "Show All Music" option.
