iOS 7
Have you read through the responses on here? There are a few suggestions on how to fix the "issue." Restarting the iPad did the trick for me, and for many other people as well. You may wanna try that.
Yeah... I have been having a very similar issue. I'm stuck in perma-portrait. I've tried everything... Including defaulting to factory settings... NOTHING makes any difference. ios7 was a mistake...
Turn off orientation. Power down and power up. Worked for me.
Just installed new 7.0.2 update on my iPad & screen still not rotating anyone else tried it yet ???
Nope... no love here either, but the update was only related to security and a language pack. Fingers crossed we get a fix soon.
The same thing is happening on my mini ever since ios 7. It is an intermittent problem and when I power off, it temporarily fixes itself, but the problem hasn't gone away. Help please!
Remote app still stuck in portrait mode. Did all the hand-waving detailed in the above posts and still no moving the Remote app back to landscape. Ipad2. Not a really big deal, but it'd be nice to have iOS7 work as well as it's predecessor.
Rebooting fixed this problem for me after choosing to mute with slide sw in settings
iPad 4 (Retina Disply) iOS 7.02 - Same problem here with only the Remote app. None of the above suggestions have worked for me.
I've tried every combination and dozens of reboots to no avail; Remote app still stuck in portrait view.
Just 2x click the HoME button, slide the culprit app UP to close it and relaunch the app. There is no need to reboot your device.
Apple should address this issue in the next update. I've found so many flaws in ios7 but will give them a chance before ditching the iPhone for a more mature device.
iPad Mini - Auto rotation doesn't work for Remote app since updating to iOS 7.02. All other apps work 4.0 (Oriention/auto-rotate wise). Tried the: Reduce Motion, reboot, swipe up to close the app/relaunch, Lock and Unlock Orientation (both in Command Center and using the side swich), changing the side switch from Mute to Lock Orientation tricks. NONE of these work. The Remote app is still Foxtrot-Uniform. Ironic that this app is an Apple production and the only app that the Orientation(Auto-rotate) feature doesn't work on both my wife's Mini and my iPad Retina (4).
IT'S JUST A SETTING ISSUE! I FOUND IT: ON THE TOP RIGHT OF YOUR SCREEN WHEN IPHONE IS UNLOCK, IF THERE IS A PADLOCK ICON IT'S BECAUSE IT IS LOCK TO PORTRAIT.
Do fix:
1. Start from a locked iphone
2. Click the HOME button once
3. slide up the menu where you can turn on the light
4. un-select the padlock.
jf.
A little crazy but it worked for me, try using your 5 fingers on the screen to rotate it. It seems that after several days my ipad stopped rotating, I tried EVERYTHING (re-booting, side button mute/rotation, motion reduction, etc.) and after checking many blogs and asking around, I just put my Ipad on vertical position and tried to turn the screen and worked. Good Luck!
MIne is stuck in portrait with the home button at the top. I can force reboot and get it to swap so that the home button is at the bottom, but when it get's locked and unlocked, it's back with the home button at the top. I can't use my case to hold up my iPad anymore. I've tried everything in the above posts and nothing helps. My bosses is the same model, iPad 3, and his will rotate, occasionally, but mostly sticks in portrait.
Thanks Shiranga!
Your tip worked perfectly. My poor husband was sooo frustrated when his screen wouldn't rotate after the update. He was about to throw away his iPhone and get a Galaxy! Oh my! You saved the day.
