itunes 11.1 extremely slow and laggy

I phone 7 plus just updated to 11.1 phone loosing battery life fast and getting very hot on occasion..

is there a fix for this ?

Can you go back to 10.0 ?

Has Apple come up with a fix ?

Anyone help ?

I experience the same sluggish feeling. It happens when switching menu fans, when scrolling and when making new stations for podcasts.

OS: Windows 7 - 64 bit

Exact same problem.

iTunes just contantly hangs for like, 10-20 seconds at a time while doing things like scrolling up and down through my podcast list.

Just started when I updated today.

Odd that so few people seem to be having the same experience…

So i'm also experiencing this, but for me it's more specific. I listen to alot of SModcast podcasts, and ever since updating to 11.1 all the artwork for them are missing. My problem is that it's only them that i'm having issues with, every other podcast is working fine. I can manually add artwork but they still don't show up on the side bar under the "My Podcasts" tab. I resubscribed to them and still nothing. I had to delete them just to be able to scroll down and listen to other podcasts. Hope that a fix comes soon.

Am similarly dealing with the same issue. Swapping into the Podcast section takes anywhere between 10 and 40 seconds, and similarly any further click. Ever since iTunes 11.1 was installed.

We should try and draw Apple's attention tothis.

There is another thread suggestion 'Search all Library' should be disabled.

I tried that - to no avail.

Restart etc haven't fixed it.

Resubscribing didn't help me any. I have no idea what's causing this because it's only happening to those specific ones. As you said it's not the end of the world so I just subscribed to them on Stitcher until Apple releases an update.

I am having the same issues as everyone as well. Tried repairing permissions, didn't help. Makes the Podcasts section of the app just totally unusable. I can't even download them right now.

The number and quantity of podcasts doesn't seem to be an issue either, does it?

Anyone tried Apple Support… maybe too soon for them to respond to something already documented?

noticed the same thing after i upgraded. after clicking on podcasts library itunes would freeze additionally when clicking on my iphone in itunes and selecting the podcast tap, itunes would beachball for 20-30 seconds. So I opened activity monitor and noticed everytime I selected podcast library or the podcasts to sync under the device network activity would skyrocket and itunes would freeze until it completed. It only occurs with podcasts.... Out of curiosity I turned wifi off, connected ethernet -> same prolem. The interesting part is if I disconnect ethernet and disable wifi everything is lightning fast, no delays, and no apparent issues other than the fact you cannot download new episodes.

All of which suggests it's a widespread enough bug for us to ask for Apple's help. Thanks…
