iOS 7 Freezing While typing

I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 7 today and now whenever I go to type anything, the screen freezes for 15-30 seconds after every 2 letters I type. It freezes on the dial pad also, so when I go to call, or enter my passcode, it freezes and is not getting half the numbers. The Control Center is also not coming up; it will work one or two times then I have to lock my phone and unlock it for the chance it might come up.

I've put iOS 7 on my iPad and its not having the problems my phone is. Does anyone know how to fix this or is anyone else having this problem?

Hi ...

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

Then restart your iPhone and try typing.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, then swipe the slider to power off.

I've had the same problem and after resetting all settings and setting a numerical passcode, things worked fine. When I changed the passcode to a alphanumeric passcode again, the keyboard started freezing again. I reset all settings and have set a numerical passcode for now. It does look like there is a bug in the passcode module of iOS 7 😟

After an iPad mini update, I too experienced the keyboard freeze. It was particularly anoying as I could not type in my passcode and my iPad became "DISABLED". A reboot and patience got me in again. I found that I had to wait about seven seconds after hitting each passcode key. As soon as I got to "settings", I had to totally disable the passcode. That *****, but it's a temporary work-around to allow me to simply use the iPad.

The recommended solutions so far sound convoluted and unrelated to the problem (an IOS 7 bug that needs to be fixed by Apple in an update). Does it make sense to blow away ALL settings or disable use of iCloud (no offense intended)? I look forward to someone discovering a lasting fix or will wait for Apple to provide a remedy.

Now I just have to figure out how to fix the ridiculous "unread emails" count ...

I have the same problem, but when I try to reset the settings, it asks for a restrictions passcode. I have never set a restrictions passcode. I searched re: this issue and read somewhere that sometimes after an ios update that the update can set a restrictions passcode and that using 1234 should work. It didn't. If anyone has any other ideas of how to get around the resriction passcode, I would appreciate it! I should mention I have a iphone 4 in case it's relevant.
