I have an iPhone 5, after trying all the different settings and restores, I went back to turning off background app refresh completely for everything again, and haven't had a freeze in two days knock on wood. Though this little new feature is cool, if this is the cause of the freezing, it's useless.

Hope this helps some others

well, on my 4S (not in warranty anymore off course) it worked fine till 7.0.2 ! now it is totally useless but I figured out when it crashes. By looking at pictures of iCloud ! I restored (DFU) the iphone, entered icloud credentials and directly went to watch my pictures and it crashed when I tried to browse the pictures ... I did the procedure again, same thing. I then restored DFU, entered the icloud credentials to go thru activation then skiped the icloud settings and it now works fine. Very strange ....

My iphone 5 just freezes and while in this state whatever screen I am on at the time just like twitches and the entire phone becomes unresponsive. You can attempt to contact apple on the phone and they will direct you to your carrier and your carrier will direct you to apple. Shameful that no one will will take responsibility and fix the apparent problems that come with ios7. Maybe we would have been better off not getting the update. I loved my iphone 5 but now I am ready to have another phone that at least works. Come on apple.....

Well I have the freezing but I can tell you going to Android brings on it's own problems. I was going to switch before ios7 came out because I didn't think I would like it . Well android has crashes and unstable apps that force close so you basically one problem for the next. After a week back on android with a gs4 I returned it and went back to my iphone 5. I can't tell you what's best for you but it did not work for me and apple at least is not this way all the time. Once they release the proper updates to get rid of all the bugs I think ios7 will be loved more than ios6 or android. Just my opinion not an apple or android fan I just want something that works.

I called my local Apple Store & was advised to go into settings, then into General & reset the network settings. So far my phone hasn't frozen up since I have reset the network settings. I was told if this doesn't permanently fix the problem then I will have to make an appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store..... Fingers crossed that resetting the network settings worked !

Did you try resetting your network settings? I did this and drained my battery down to the point my iphone shut itself off and then powered it to a full 100% and thankfully I haven't had the freezing anymore. Another thing I noticed when my phone did freeze I had a lot of apps open switching back and forth quickly so now I close what I'm not using.

INTERESTINGLY... every new iOS update tends to ruin battery life or something else significant on the current generation iphone making users want to swtich to the one about to be launched. ios 5 did this to the iphone 4, ios 6 to the 4s and now ios 7 has done this to the iphone 5!!! i even remember ios 4 messing things up with the iphone 3g big time.
