That worked for me when 3 hours on chat to Apple did not.

The only step I added was, after step 5 I 'viewed my aple ID' and entered the security code and expiry date which were missing.

Had no problems since.

today i had this problem. If going to preference/itune-appstore-etc and click on your accaunt after chosen look your information you will see pop-up window where you can enter your password and after this close this apps in background. Its all - can be working good. i`m repaire this mistake and app store was opened. good luck.

I had the same problem, and an interim solution was for me to:

a) log into itunes from my pc, then enambled home sharing in itunes on the pc

b) sync the apps to the iphone, and finally the apps I had downloaded on my pc got transferred to my iphone

I still cannot sign into itunes on my iphone and download apps directly, which is quite frustrating.

When searching in app store no results would come up and updates wouldn't load.

I went to settings/itunes&appstore but it did nothing

after reading several pages of this thread I did the following:

reboot the phone

went to settings/itunes&app store and this time I could get to the next screen. When I clicked on account it told me that Itunes wasn't an acceptable payment method and to log in to itune son my computer and change it.

I did this

then went back to settings and ended up ahving to re-enter the CC info click next and couple times and it works fine now.

Iphone 5s - setup as new phone vs restore 1 week ago

iPhone5S - iOS 7.1.1

While in WiFi:

Set Safari cookies to allow Always

Signed out and In again with Apple ID via iPhone iTunes & App Store area of iPhone

Switched off iPhone (as always)

Tried to log in my Apple ID via PC, worked fine

Switched on IPhone and all was OK with APP store.

Switched Safari back to block cookies from 3rd party & adverts ans still all OK now.

Happened to me to. The upgrade also locked me out of my phone and I had to wipe my phone and restore, but now it won't allow me to link my phone number to my imessage and facetime.

I don't know if this is an error of the Update or the server is full :S

Tried this. It didn't work for me! This is frustrating.

Just log out of the App Store and log back in, presto.
