I agree--I had seen some screens, thought it was likely some bad screens and went ahead took the plunge to upgrade.

I'm regretting that decision pretty badly. A really cheap looking design aesthetic and some of the new features feel 'busy' to use compared to the older OS (Looking at you Calendar).

I went to type up a note today and actually laughed out loud at the new note display--just cheap and hard on the eyes. Not to mention the candy blue/green bubble text--reminds me of 90s website design. Just need to find a "Under construction" flashing GIF for my homescreen...

Really let down--and of course I submitted my feedback for what it's worth and voiced my displeasure. I've done that (and post here)--because I use my phone so heavily for work and have always defended/supported Apple products--so naturally I want to see the company succeed. I just don't see how this cheap looking design is the way forward.

This all reminds me of the whole "New Coke" / "Classic Coke" thing many of us experienced in the 80's... sort of. In changing the asthetics that so many Apple iPhone users have come to love and appreciate so much (and change them so drastically), Apple has in effect "changed the flavor" of our iPhones. Sure, I truly love the technical changes and new features, but I want to VOMIT every time I turn on my phone and see what's been done visually to a formerly beautiful thing.

Indeed. Looks like it has been designed for children.

I agree. Just because the opposition are selling large numbers of devices on operating systems with crude graphic design does not make crude graphic design a good idea. With iOS6 Apple had the world's best user interface, with depth, visual clarity and sophistication. Now with iOS7 we have crude cartoonish icons with no depth, extremely poor visual clarity and a naive appearance that you would expect from a child. Anyone who has Photoshop experience will tell you that the iOS6 appearance was a high level graphic design with reflection, form, background shading and a heirachy of colours working together to achieve an apparent simplicity that concealed the considerable effort which must have gone into it. iOS7 on the other hand has none of these features.

There are other poor features. The sea sick feeling you get from having to watch the pointless parallax effect and the decision to burden the iOS to the point where even a new iPad can no longer run the interface in a smooth fashion.

This is Apple's poorest effort, since beacme a fan in 1990. I resent the sight of it every time I use the iPad. Fortunately I only upgraded my iPad. My old iPhone now looks fabulous by comparison. Now Apple's tablet is as ugly as everyone else's, I might as well have a look at their product in future. Something I never thought that I would do.It seems that Apple have prevented us from downgrading. But I agree that downgrading would be the best solution. iOS 7 is as ugly as sin.

Hey Kevin,

I personally did not, nor will I, make the move to IOS 7. I had downloaded the Beta a few months back and played with it long enough to realize it wasn't for me. It was an easy process to restore to IOS6 at that stage as Apple was still signing 6.1.4. It's unfortunate that most of the people in this thread did not know what they were getting into when they "upgraded", as that restore option is currently unavailable.

I wish I could see the new cheap looking interface but iOS7 set up a lock code that was not set up previously and locked me out of my phone. Yes, Apple locked me out of my iPhone! Just got off the phone with tech support and they tell me there is no solution except to do a full restore and lose all my data!

My daughter upgraded also. She had a previous lock code so hers is working but now her battery lasts only 1/3 as long as it did before the "upgrade"!

This is not just about aesthetics - not in the least! My husband was about to ditch his Android Samsung for a new iPhone - not now. What a shame!!!!!
