iOs 7 on iPad 3

Hello there.

I have ipad 3, new ipad with 16gb and 3g hardware.

Did you notice battery drain? I had my battery down in something like 4.30 hours.

The keyboard is really slow, i noticed an important lag during the use of it!

Wifi perfomance is really bad.

The only thing the customer care answered me is that they have no information about this, and i'm the only one experencing this problem........

Someone noticed the same?

Thanks

iPad 3 16gb Wifi only

My wife and I upgraded our iPhone 5's (not 5s) to iOS7 and they work better than ever. So I upgraded our iPad 3 which had the latest iOS6 and had been working perfectly.

1. Intermittent mail problems. Small attachments would appear and you could tap to download but larger attachments (in my limited tests, over 50k) would start to auto download (no choice to tap) but then stop completely. Any attempts to redownload them got a dialog stating the attachment could not be downloaded at this time. Repeated attempts got the same, but trying a smaller attachment worked normally.

2. Battery drain - 100% to 18% in four hours with most of the time on standby. Took one hour so far to get back to 36% -- that's quite a bit slower than before. Still charging so I'll be interestede to see what happens based on other reports on this thread. Using stock charger plugged into wall.

3. My pre-existing wallpaper (custom photograph) appears way off center. Attempts to install a new custom wallpaper have been problematic and research shows no one agrees on how to do it. Using Apple-supplied ABSTRACT wallpapers works fine.

4. Updated version of Goodreader worked great until I put iPad in standby. When I woke up the iPad, Goodreader crashed and froze the screen with 50 errors. After a few minutes I was able to finally email the crash report but couldn't get the screen to rotate from horizontal to vertical until I did a full reboot.

5. Keyboard seems slightly laggy but I don't know if I'm simply brainwashed by all the comments above stating the keyboard is slow. The keyboard is slower than my iPhone 5.

A few days ago I went to the Barton Creek Apple store in Austin and asked if they had any iPads with iOS7 on it. None. They said someone was upgrading them as we spoke but an hour later we still couldn't find any in the store. They may have installed them by now so I look forward to trying them there to see what they did to fix (or not fix) these problems.

WORKING SOLUTION ON iOS 7 POOR PERFORMANCE OVERALL PROBLEM

Hello.

That's my final solution witch works for all my iPads and iPhones and finally is so smooth and fast on iOS 6 before.

Hope that You will all have same results.

Follow those steps:

1. Connect Your decide to PC/Mac and open iTunes

2. Go to Your device settings

3. Change Your backup device from iCloud to iTunes backup on hard drive

4. Make a backup copy of Your device

5. Turn off FindMy app in device settings (Settings -> iCloud)

6. Click on RESTORE in iTunes and restore device to original state.

7. Now You can restore Your device from iTunes Backup.

This already should make Your iPads and IPhones working fast and smooth, but if You still see lagging then do this step:

8. Go to Settings -> Accesibility -> Reduce movement and turn it ON

The difference of doing it with iTunes is that full backup copy is created and full iOS 7 installation is downloaded.

Update version isn't full and I think that could be reason of all our problems.

Enjoy!

Do any of these resets, device wipes, etc increase battery life?

My iPad3, while a bit slower is nothing I can't tolerate (although it would certainly be nice for it to be resolved and back to iOS6 standards) but the battery is awful. I can surf on WiFi for 20 minutes and lose 7% of the battery rather quickly

The battery is even worse on my iPhone 4S, even under very light to moderate use I need a full recharge after 6-7 hours

is there any way to downgrade from ios 7 to 6? my ipad became very slow ... too many lags ... and in safari if i go to google translate website, it closed automaticlly ...

No, there isn't any supported way to downgrade, and any instructions you might run across on teh web to do so are more than a little risky.

A reset may very well resolve the app issue: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
