iOs 7 on iPad 3

Hello there.

I have ipad 3, new ipad with 16gb and 3g hardware.

Did you notice battery drain? I had my battery down in something like 4.30 hours.

The keyboard is really slow, i noticed an important lag during the use of it!

Wifi perfomance is really bad.

The only thing the customer care answered me is that they have no information about this, and i'm the only one experencing this problem........

Someone noticed the same?

Thanks

Yes iO7 basically ***** on the iPad 3. It's slow, it's sticky, it's barely usable. I'm at least thinking about restoring to the last iOS 6 backup if that's possible. And opened a case with Apple, for all the good that will do -- but if enough people do it they WILL get the message.

I read one suggestion to do a Reset in General Settings. Did that, and it made a slight, but negligible difference. Still terrible. Works fine on my iPhone 5 with no issues. If I didn't know better I'd think that Apple included a special "upgrade motivator" routine in the code, designed to chew up CPU cycles and encourage an upgrade to the latest iPad :(

After using it a bit longer I've decided that "still terrible" isn't a fair description, although it certainly seems more sluggish than under iOS 6. I tried reinstalling one of the dynamic wallpapers, and it (after the Reset) runs smoothly now with out the jerkiness I was experiencing before. And I'm not encountering any keyboard issues at this point.

We'll see how it goes. Hopefully there will be a 7.01 for iPad at some point to clear things up.

im having the same issue with my "New" ipad. the keyboard is very sluggish. I have called Apple and is on the phone with them again. I will update with info as sson as im done.

*Typing lag iOS 7*

Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. This should improve the typing responsiveness.

I did a clean install of iOS 7 no "update". so why reseting the device again?

I have also issues on my Iphone 5 (also clean iOS 7 install). Here I'm receiving a lot of iMessages delayed (up to 5 minutes). e.g. I don't see messages on the Iphone which I already answered on my iMac. Also on the iPhone in the app store I can not see my purchased apps.

This is the worst update I ever got from Apple!

Same for me for the keyboard issue: especially when I click on "shift". It's almost unusable. I have tried a restoration (and configure it as a new iPad) and deactivate animation. So my iPad has currently zero app downloaded and the keyboard is still sluggish. I really hope 7.0.1 or 2 will fix this issue (I have the iPad 3 32 Go with the old dock connector)...

I too can confirm lag on keyboard on a UK 32GB Ipad 3 Retina, especially when tabbing between the letters and number keyboard.

A further bug that i have found involves the use of Aircraft mode. If you enable Aircraft mode from the new Control centre feature within the screen lock then it appears that should you try and disable the Aircraft mode setting via the old pre-existing method within Settings that this no longer works in IOS 7.0. You can switch Aircraft mode off in settings and the slider will show as off, however the Aircraft mode will stay enabled and the Aircraft icon remains in the top right of the screen. The only way to disable Aircraft mode in this scenario is by re-entering the control centre from the screen lock screen and disabling Aircraft mode from there.

Is this a bug or a new security feature? Has anybody else seen this issue?

Hi, I have the same issues with ipad 3... nothing to say... I'm a BIG Apple fun... but I bought an LG Nexus 16GB... I'm "crying"... seeing Apple to become market follower from market creator role... hope that they will have a tough leader soon who will block unstable releases... + have some easthetic control on designers... (ios7 desing was made for the biggest market I think... China... sorry)...

I am in the same boat with Jake.. The initial restart after the install some things were laggy.. but after a bit, it was back to normal. I did some unscientific tests yesterday on battery life and I went from 100% to 81% in over 3 hrs.. this is with medium brightness, stopwatch going, watching 2 45 min videos, using the vga cable on the ipad to external monitor and any background refreshing going on. Also includes blogging a bit on the ipad and taking screenshots. Then put it in standby mode for 4hrs, with no battery drain. I used it again for another 2hrs with only 10% drain from where I was before.

I have turned off the Parrallax Effect. That is about it.

thx

IPad 3 wifi only: Keyboard lag is intermittent but generally ok. Worse than ios 6 but usable.

Screen rotation is very jerky

Four finger pinch to desktop animation has awkward abrupt ending

Parallax effect jumps and starts, so I turned it off.

These are all things I can live with...

BUT what I absolutely can't live with is the awful performance with photos and wallpapers!!

From a photo in the Photos application (taken with ipad camera), it takes 4-10 seconds to bring up Share options

Choosing "set as wallpaper" takes another 5 seconds

Once in the move/scale screen, pinch to scale causes it to freeze nearly immediately. If I wait it will unfreeze after 10-12 seconds.

Setting both lock and home screens to use this image takes 13 more seconds.

The same applies to Apple's built in static wallpapers. Unacceptable. A 16MP high quality JPEG? Forget about it.

Not to mention that buttons in the ui don't light up when you press them, so during that 13 second wait for the wallpaper to set, I'm not even sure I pushed the button!!!

Honestly, this reminds me of my first Samsung/Android phone. Very rough around the edges.

I had most of these problems before the battery drained completely, (while it was sitting there with the smart cover shut). Now it will not charge (wall charger & original cord, and some aftermarket cords, have tried everything) and is stuck at 1% in a boot loop, loop restarts when it hits the lock screen and returns to the red battery screen. I'm so mad! Cust service suggests an upgrade to a 4 and that they are hearing nothing about these problems. Srsly? $@#*!

THEY ALL SAY THAT THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD ABOUT THIS PROBLEMS! It's unacepptable! The problem are real, we are from every side of the world and we are experiencing all the same problems, why apple still try to defend with the stupid thing of "never HEARD about it?" Pls tell everyone tha you know with these problems to write here!we have to give a signal to apple we are not stupid...........

Unacceptable...
