iOs 7 on iPad 3

Hello there.

I have ipad 3, new ipad with 16gb and 3g hardware.

Did you notice battery drain? I had my battery down in something like 4.30 hours.

The keyboard is really slow, i noticed an important lag during the use of it!

Wifi perfomance is really bad.

The only thing the customer care answered me is that they have no information about this, and i'm the only one experencing this problem........

Someone noticed the same?

Thanks

I once responded that everything seemed fine on my iPad 3 after the update to iOS 7. Maybe I was just got carried away or the lagness is tolerable for me. But when I came to prove that audio and inter audio apps were a mess, I sold my iPad 3 and bought the iPad Air, twice the storage and battery life, and half the weight! Try that! It will solve all your problems imao!!!

I use my iPad 3, provided by my employer, for use as a digital music reader in my classrooms. The MOST important thing is that the page turns are quick and reliable (tap the screen, the screen responds immediately). Since upgrading my iPad 3 to iOS 7, it has become pretty much unusable. There are times when I will tap the screen, and 2 - 3 seconds go by and THEN the device responds and takes me to the next page of music. I cannot overemphasize what a problem this is, especially in performance to have the music not respond.

iOS 7 has basically made my iPad 3 useless. Unfortunately, there is no way to return it to iOS 6. I really don't want to have to buy my own iPad Air, but it seems that I may have no choice. :-( Not really what I want to be doing during the Christmas season, buying myself stuff instead of my kids. (No, work won't replace the device).

So, perhaps Apple should have not made this update available for this generation of iPads. I've heard from a couple of app developers that the build of iOS 7 is actually slightly different for this particular device, given the hardware limitations in comparison to the newer iPads.

*sigh*

Worse than that. Nothing happens, so you tap again and again. Finally, it flips four pages all at once, and you lose your position in the book completely.

And I still cannot get a capital letter, unless I type at the speed of a dyslexic Neanderthal.

The iPad has been reduced to a pile of cr@p.

Apple - please sack the guy or gal who signed off on this update. No, better still, I have some rope somewhere....

You guys have convinced me to stay at v5.1.1 on my iPad 3. I never liked v6 so I just never upgraded my iOS, and v7 will make it run like a slug. To be honest, as a veteran iOS user, I have always found the best operating system version was the one your device was shipped with. Upgrades are always designed for the newest hardware and will never run better than your original iOS version.

It's just too bad that Apple makes it incredibly hard to revert back to the older version. It was a mistake for them to allow v7 on the ipad3.

It's too bad you're letting a few very vocal people convince you not to take advantage of what is really a great iOS. It runs flawlessly on my iPad 3 and on my iPhone 5, neither of which shipped with it. As a veteran iOS user, I've found that, while the oldest device that is listed as capable of running a new version doesn't tend to run it as well as newer models, the rest gain a lot from the updates.

Best of luck.

All of these iPad 3 owners can't be that stupid, when they say their iPad 3 has much slower performance on iOS 7 than iOS 6. I like the look of the old iOS better than the new iOS. To me it just looks dumbed down. Why just display primary colors on a white background when you have a high resolution display? It looks 1980's Mac to me. I have ios7 on my iPod 5 and that's as far as I am going with it for now. My guess is you weren't around when the big update from ios3 to 4 came out. Much the same problems and it took apple a long time to fix them.

My ipad3 runs great on iOS 5. I really don't want to take the chance on ****** it up with ios7, as I really don't like the way ios7 looks anyways. In the back of my mind is, you can't go back if you don't like the update, and there are way too many bad reviews here.

My sentiments entirely. I'm firmly in the camp of if it ain't broke don't fix it particularly if the latest iOS iteration reminds me of a primary school project!!

Maybe there's a Noblel Prize waiting out there for anyone who can discover why so many iPads have updated without issue and so many that have been bricked!!

I do not belielve I said anyone was stupid. Are all of use who are having no difficulties stupid when we say it works perfectly? It's only stupid to complain about something if you then refuse to take any of the basic troubleshooting steps that would quite possibly resolve the issues.

If the look of the iOS is more important to you than whatever features may have been added and you don't like the new look, you should certainly exercise your preference.

Best of luck.

Don't even CONSIDER buying an iPad Air. I went through 2 of them, constantly crashed. I returned them. It has the same amount of memory as the iPad 3 and the iPad 3 can barely handle IOS7. Check the ipad air low memory error thread....its growing by the day.

I went back to the ipad 4; bought new ($350) on holiday sale at Staples- it ships with IOS6 installed.

Hi guys, i'm the maker of this discussion and i'm really glad that a lot of people still use this post to solve their problems and talking about them. I just want you to know that i have no more the ipad 3 and i'm now using the ipad 5 (ipad air). Comparing these two ipad i can say that the ipad 3 problems were real and there wes no way to solve them: definitely i can say that iOs 7 is not for iPad 3, and i can add, ipad 3 since the launch of the first production was a buggy ipad.

Thanks everyone, i hope you can solve your problems as i solved.
