Looking for feedback on how well iOS 7 performs on an iPhone 4 before I upgrade.

Mine was kind of a mixed bag. Some stuff seemed faster, other times, it seemed that the phone would bog down severely. I've since upgraded to an iPhone 4s, which seems to be better. Also, the 32GB of space is nice, compared to the 16GB of my old 4. Plus, no having to worry about the home button getting tempermental.

Anyway, hope it's working decently enough for you.

iOS7 has great new look and cool features. But after having it installed my iPhone 4 did something it's never done before. It restarted itself. There was a lot of lag using apps and keyboard but it got better after I restored as a new device but because the phone is older there was still some lag. If I had an iPhone 5 I would definitely use ios7. But I'd rather stick with ios6.1.3 since I have an iPhone 4

Hello! I need help. After upgrading to IOS 7 my Iphone 4 became very slow. Issues: keyboard delay, long time to load apps, settings, messages and all the stuff. Also it takes more MB when I surf. Tried to reset all settings, reboot, updated to IOS 7.02, back up, but nothing has helped so far. Please tell me what to do, cause it ***** to wait about min to open some programmes.

Well a factory reset is exactly that: deleting all of your data. You can backup photos to the photo stream or on your computer but your apps will have to be redownloaded from apple, your media will have to be resynced, and your text messages on the device will be deleted. Contacts can be backed up to icloud or your computer. This is the only way to completely reset your device and get rid of all the clutter that collects on the device over the years. Also dont restore from A backup as corrupted files or "junk" files will be copied back into the device that way, making the reset less effective.

When you sync using iTunes, on the summary tab, choose "backup to this computer". Then hit the Apply or Sync button at the bottom. Up at the top you'll see that it's backing up, and you'll see the Apple logo when it's done. After that you can do the factory reset. After that's done you can do a restore.
