My Music app keeps crashing in iOS 7

A little bit of backstory might be useful: I'm on an iPhone 4 running iOS 7 and am an iTunes Match subscriber. While I was still on iOS 6 my music app at some point began to only show songs and playlists, not albums or artists.

Now that I've upgraded to iOS 7 the music app is completely inoperable. When I try to open it, it looks like it's loading for a short time before the phone returns to the home screen. The same thing happens when another app trys to access Music, such as downloading a new song from the iTunes Store, playing music through an exercise app (Nike Training Club), and even when trying to see the space usage on my phone (I think because that prompts the phone to see how many music files there are).

I deleted all the songs from my phone when I updated to iOS 7 to get space and because I thought I would be able to get them back through iTunes Match. I know that this isn't a problem with my iTunes Match library, because it works fine on two Macs and my partner's iPhone 4. I've tried turning off iTunes Match just in case. In my frustration, I nearly deleted all the content from my phone to try to start from scratch, but I thought I'd ask here to see if other people are having the same promblem or if anyone has any thoughts for a possible solution.

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!

A reply to Pips1971 as well as Andres176 and anyone else that cliams they've "done everything".

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND --- DO NOT GO THROUGH THESE STEPS UNTIL YOU'VE TRIED THE SIMPLE STUFF FIRST -

(in otherwords..If using itunes match, turn it off and back on / if it's just music not playing or the app freezing and doesn't involve itunes match and you have all your music in itunes on your computer.. try unsyncing and resyncing the music over...also try a regular two button reset etc - these steps are quick and generally don't involve risk to your data)

Almost every issue that people have experienced with iOS7 can be solved nearly every single time by doing the following:

1) Connect the device to itunes

2) Go to file > devices > and transfer purchases - then file > devices > backup. (these two steps together back up everything)

3) Select the device in itunes > under "summary" choose the option "restore" (not restore backup.. just "restore")

4) when the process is done choose "set up as new" (don't worry, we made a backup - remember?)

5) after setting it up as new then choose the option "restore from backup" on the summary screen

- at this point you should have everything on your device just like it was, but the issue should be solved.

Like I said.. this works for many different things (Imessage not activating is a big one) and in many cases it's the only way! (like the imessage issue that some experienced after the update)

After you have restored AS NEW then you have "tried everything"... if it's still not working, you need to get to the genius bar 🙂

I am having the same issue. It seems some people are getting relief from an Itunes backup. Not me. I've done everything suggested. When. I try to sync to Itunes, I get the error that the sync was unable to start. After that, if I try to choose to back up my Ipad, I get the same error. I never get a backup, so I have nothing to restore. So this fix does not work for me. Before I upgraded to IOS 7, I did back up to the ICloud. I saw no reason to back up to Itunes since I thought the whole point of ICloud was to improve on that process. And I am kicking myself. I knew Apple's stuff never works right. So I held out this long on upgrading. Finally I broke down and did it. Lesson learned. Apple makes unreliable software that just does not seem to work well for me ever. I am always having to come on boards like this and figure out how to get around their failures. I am now convinced that Apple's products and software really only work well for light users with just a few apps, a few songs, and a small amount of data. I am beyond annoyed. I will need to go see a genius now. I've found the geniuses rarely are. And a trip to the Genius Bar takes time from family, work, and things I would rather be doing than giving my time to overpriced products that don't work. I pay a premium for less headache. Argh!

Ok, so with that rant out of the way, any ideas if the solution here does not work. I actually deleted all content and data from my ipad. The I restored from my iCloud backup. That worked. But I still get the music crash, the usage crash, and I can't back up to either iCloud or itunes. Any ideas?
