Verizon 5, same issue. You can almost watch it going down.
The new OS will require a few battery cycles to recalibrate itself. Old calibrations are erased. Until then, the battery indicator will deplete faster than normal.
I've been running the GM release since it was officially released. My phone has gone through multiple cycles. I'm still having issues off and on.
I am having the same issue and I had to talk with Verizon today and the manager next to the tech said he has the same problem. It's not wifi or your phone. It's iOS7.
Spent an hour on the phone with Apple and another manager said Apple needs to get feedback regarding this. I tried to explain that it's not my phone. The phone was fine until I upgraded the OS. I also insisted that she understand that this is not unique to me. Many more here are having this issue and this thread is not the only one discussing the battery.
Unless Apple gets complaints from a lot of people it will go unfixed.

Seeing a rapid battery drain today with iOS7 on a AT&T iPhone 4s. Worked great yesterday before the update. Today I saw the battery drop 4% in just a half hour of sitting on my desk. Previously, I could leave the phone alone for 8 hours and see only 0%-1% drop.
I have turned off everything, including wifi, and it's still going down fast. If I use apps, regardless of a dark or light screen, the batter will drop a percentage point every couple of minutes.
Someone posted that the battery needs to recalibrate itself over several cycles. Is that true?
Here are a few tips to improve battery life under iOS7:

You're doing great compared to me! I lost 50% in 5 minutes. Took 3 1/2 hours to charge to 100%
Michael - with the kind of loss I'm having those tips are only going to save me "chump change". I lose it faster than I can recharge.

I loaded IOS 7 on my iPad and have experienced no significant impact to battery life on that device - the issue is isolated to my iPhone 5.
Try disabling wifi and see if this fixes it. It seems to be a wifi bug where the radio doesn't shut down, or is using too much power.
I am having same problem.
Battery life was ok till upgrade my iphone 5 to ios7.
I have 1% reduces in battery every 2-3 minutes of use.
I tried to disable all backgrounds, refresh, locations, notifications and all other suggestions i found on the net.
Problem continues. No app in background.
It's such a waist I want to through my phone to the toilet.
Also heating up much
More than I ever had.
Also wifi coverage is shorten.
I used to have wifi in all my house.
Now it switches to 3g when i am far a few meters from the router room.
Must go back to ios 6!!!!
Fast!
I did an "erase full content" and all settings then did a restore from backup.
then did a hard power off (home button + top button)
in standby it seems to be alot better, dropped about 7% in 3hr 40 min, usage show 44 min, but all I have done is checked a couple of texts. so most of the 44 min was just logged in the phone on the home screen watching the battery meter.
Using IOS 7, iPhone 5 on Verizon and my battery life seems to have returned to normal - or near normal. Per suggestions on here I turned Background App Refresh off on most apps, disabled Location Services on all but a couple of apps, turned Reduce Motion on and turned off the following system services: Location-Based iAds, Popular Near Me and Traffic. I have wifi ON. I have been using my iPhone on and off all morning and my battery percentage is at 95%. I was losing a couple percent every few minutes yesterday.
this helped alot

the battery is so bad now. I had my alarm go off this morning and I hit snooze unplugged it it went from 100% to 95% in 8 minutes. My battery is now at 81% and its only 9:50 am. I really hope that they figure this out. I shouldn't have to charge my phone 2 to 3 times a day.ðŸ˜
