Podcast goes haywire on iTunes 11.1

After upgrading to IOS7 and iTunes 11.1, my Podcasts have all gone haywire.

ITunes have deleted all my Podcasts which I have not configures to sync with my iPhone. All episodes disappeared. In some Podcasts (but not all), all episodes other than those ticked got deleted.

I could download them again (or retrieve from Time Machine) but if I exit and restart iTunes, it will just revert back to being deleted. Then, when I sync it gets deleted from my phone too.

This new Podcast is really terrible. It got installed and reset all my Settings and I had to reset back everything. It was like I was installing a Windows app or something!!

IPOD Classic user : The same thing.has been happening to me. I downloaded the podcasts , check that they physically in the folder on the PC , so soon as restart up iTunes , I see the podcasts disappear from the folder.. Oh dear. I will try save the podcasts in another try some other methods.

I've had the same problem, I'm giving up on iTunes for podcasting. It's clear they don't consider people like me who want to save old episodes. Anyway, what is this "Time Machine" that people are referencing? Is ther some way to get older podcast episodes that are not available through the iStore feeds?

Woodycanuck, Time machine is the backup software for Apple Mac. http://www.apple.com/airport-time-capsule/. Because it backs-up incrementally, any file deleted does not disappear from the backup and you can go into the past to retrieve the files. Helps me to save the files taht iTunes deleted.
