Hi, I installed on my iphone IOS 7 but now wifi doesn't work. It doesn't find any wifi connections around me. Please help me! What can I do?
i figured this was probably going to take a hard reset. mine worked fine after initial update. wifi stopped working after i using airplane mode. when i turned off airplane mode the wifi did not come back on and when i tried to turn it on through settings the button was greyed out and could not be accessed.
For me it worked! Took the apostrophe out of my phone, did the reset network settings, a reboot and first it didn't seem to work but now i have my wifi back. Thanks!
Same problem here, tried all the tips listed above... Nothing.
I like the part when Apple announced "we've been testing iOS7 for months now, on all compatible devices..."
We shouldn't have to reboot, reset, back up or re update anything here, guys!
Dear Apple,
Please help provide a real solution to this pretty big issue many of your beloved customers are having....
Awaiting impatiently...
Thank you,
Andre.
Writing to you from home, but with his 3G connection.
IOS 7 is having major issues staying connected to My 2.4G network but the 5G network is now working just fine.
Network router is NetGear: 802.11n, iPhone 5.
IOS 6 had no such issues.
I just read something that worked for me and my plain old 4.
Turn on airplane mode and DND mode then turn off your phone. Leave it off for 5 minutes or so then turn it back on. Go to settings and hopefully you can now turn on your wifi.
We shall see if it works still tomorrow morning or for good.
Last night I was able to connect both my 4s and mom's ipad2 after removing apostrophe. This morning they are both NOT connecting. EXTREMELY frustrated. Tried resetting. Tried turning on airplone mode & DND...nothing is working.
Made an appointment for earliest appointment at genius bar...tomorrow afternoon. Is there anything else (BESIDES a miracle update from Apple) to try?
After unsuccessfully trying to get my previous network connection to work, I read your comment and my networks's 5G connection works fine too! So strange. Thanks for your help!
Removing apostrophe worked for me...so far.
I have the same WiFi issues, I did so many factory resets it's just disgusting to think I had to. Nothing was resolved. Contacted Apple, they stated that they are having no issues called in and you can not downgrade to iOS 6. They want you to pay $29.99 for a hardware exchange, which means you get a "new" iphone but they put the value of the phone as a hold on you credit card until they receive your phone via mail. Or, you can drop it off at apple have no phone for like a week until they receive yours then you pay the $29.99 for a refurbished or "new" phone. Either way they try to throw it back at you, pretty much it's your problem not theirs. I should have just bought the Samsung Galaxy s4 when I had the chance. Now my data is being sucked dry and Apple could care less.
removing apostrophe only worked for a few minutes
I must be yet another on the long list of dissatisified customers - Apple really are making a mess of this.
I have completely reset my iPhone 4S, also tried simple network reset and always end up with one of these problems:
- wifi button greyed out; or
- able to turn on wifi, but no networks shown
At the start after installing ios 7 everything was ok, but then things started going wrong.
ios 4, ios 5 and ios 6 all worked the wifi without serious problems - this can only be a software (ios) bug with so many of us having problems ...
Wake up Apple!
Seems good now. I opened up some memory by deleting music and unused apps, wiped it, restored from an old backup, then restored from most recent backup. I'm gonna give it the day before turning icloud and findmyphone back on.
Both iphone 4s and ipad 2 are now connecting to the wifi. Had to update router firmware.
Ok, my family has three (3) iphone 4S's. My Sons and mine works on wifi (two (2) iPhone 4S's work) so I know ANY ROUTER external to apple IS NOT THE PROBLEM. My Wife's iPhone 4s doesnt work and WILL NOT CONNECT TO WIFI, at all.
I've removed her apostrophe (Mine and my Son's has one too) done the reset network settings in conjunction with that and on its own for what had to be 50+ times. Done the restart like 50+ times. BEFORE THE PROBLEM AFTER APGRADING, my wifes worked for what had to be a day and a half before she noticed it wasn't working anymore after using Airplane Mode. I have also done all of the troubleshooting above to no avail.
Perhaps it is worth mentioning, my Son and I have 16 GB i4S's and my wife has a 32 GB i4S because she's a photographer and neds the extra space.
My family just migrated to having all iPhones but next migration I think we'll migrate to something else and get rid of these iPhones. My money's going elsewhere. Depending on how fast they come out with a fix will dictate how fast we bail on the apple ship. If they don't fix it quick, we'll bail faster since I do not like throwing money down the cell data hole.
I have an iPad as well and it hasn't been upgraded yet but I will be replacing that also.
Telling a customer it's their problem when your product caused the problem is like me building a fence around my neigbor's house without his permission and charging him money to tear it down. That isn't right because he never asked for the fence, just as we never asked for our WIFI problems.
What ever happened to the customer's always right? Now it seems everywhere I look Apple's mantra has become the customer's always wrong. Fortunately my family's blessed enough that we don't have to be burdened without choice by that way of thinking.
My wifi worked fine after updating to IOS 7 on Friday-- until this afternoon. I have losts wifi completely and cannot get the wifi switch to move to turn it on (as many others have mentioned). I have tried all suggested remedies: 1. Taking the apostrophe out of my name 2. Resetting network 3. Turning on Airplane Mode and resetting network. 4. Soft restart 5. Turning off Cellular data and doing a soft restart. Nothing has worked. Need this wifi back ASAP, as I use my phone for work all day long and that will use up my data (not to mention it works very slowly)!!! Please fix this Apple!
