wifi doesn't work with IOS 7

My wifi also stopped working after updating my ios (on Iphone 5)

I followed this and it worked:

" Some people have reported success by putting the iPhone into Airplane mode and then going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, but the problem may return. "

I think I found out the reason WIFI turns on/off by itself after upgrading to IOS 7.0.

It is because for some reason, IOS 7 can not handle both WIFI and BlueTooth be turned on together.

Turn off BlueTooth and see if this will solve the issue. It works for me, although it means I can not use any bluetooth item with it. This happens on IPad 3, IPhone 5, and Macbook (although it is not IOS 7.0, but the same thing happens after I upgraded it to Marvick.)

Apple used to mean quality product. But it seems after Steve Job, the whole company products line and supports started to go downhill. It really need another visionary like Steve Job to bring Apple back.

What a shame. If Steve Jobs were still alive, this simple WIFI/Bluetooth issue would never occur.

Try to do a reset by holding the lock and home button for 20 seconds.

Take your iPhone to the Apple Store and it will be swapped out for a new one. Our two iPhones failed in exactly the same way and Apple wonderfully replaced them [iPhone 4/4s].

One of my frineds had the same problem with her's yesterday. This is what apple support told her to do yesterday and it fixed her's I hope this is helpful in some way.

1.) Update iTunes

2.) Back your phone up

3.) Hard reset your phone

4.) Restore with iTunes after reset

Hi, I had the same after upgrading the 4s to iOS7.

After all your tips I went in the (Ziggo provider standard issued) router for a static ip. I discoverd a typical setting for radio 802.11N mode set on "auto" followed by the 802.11N "support required" setting which was (default?) set to "off". I turned the "support required setting to "ON" and voila, FIXED

This specific setting worked for me.

I just read something that worked for me and my plain old 4.

Turn on airplane mode and DND mode then turn off your phone. Leave it off for 5 minutes or so then turn it back on. Go to settings and hopefully you can now turn on your wifi.

We shall see if it works still tomorrow morning or for good.

Seems good now. I opened up some memory by deleting music and unused apps, wiped it, restored from an old backup, then restored from most recent backup. I'm gonna give it the day before turning icloud and findmyphone back on.

So just as I was finishing my post I tried the keenevisionpost from Sep 23, 2013 11:27 AM (in response to scoho).

And wouldn't you know - it worked! I have Wi-fi now. I have no idea why disabling control center from the lock screen has anything to do with any of this but I have wi-fi now. Let's see how long it lasts!

I had tried most of the suggestions too, other than resetting my wireless router. I had forgotten about that option in the mess of trying things in the phone settings, etc... I did the quick pull out power cord for 30 seconds, plug back in, and now I have wifi once again. Of course, it's only been about 6 hours since I did this, so we'll see if it's a lasting solution.

I'd like to provide some more feedback on this issue. First I have an ipad 2 wifi only (no cell service). It's barely 3 months old, bought brand new. I had zero problems with it, and loved it. Being my first apple product ( besides an ancient iPod). Was seriously considering getting an iPhone (current windows phone user). Then this update happened. I am not a fan of the new icons, like many others have issues with wallpaper size, battery life, apps closing randomly and most importantly, this wifi issue.

What's the point of an ipad with wifi only, if the wifi doesn't work?

I tried ALL the suggestions above. ( my fave being the one that says turn on airplane mode, turn off find my ipad, restart . Too bad you can't turn off find my ipad unless YOU ARE CONNECTED TO WIFI- although this led to my potential fix)

Anyway, I am not a quitter and determined to make this work without waiting in the 3 hour line at the apple store.

So I finally connected to wifi long enough to turn off the find my ipad service. Since doing this I have been connected to wifi 99% of the time. A big improvement from before. Now I work from home so the find my ipad option isn't super important to me, but I do travel and would want it on.

Not to mention I didn't pay for a product to have "some" of its features not work.

I suggest trying to turn off the find my___ option and see what happens. Not that this is an acceptable fix, but hopefully a short term one. Good luck

Here's my story, so far a happy one.

My wifes iphone 4s, location Prague, Czech Rep., Europe.

Upgrade to iOS7 a week ago, wifi greyed out. She did a few restarts whitout any effect on the wifi. Also on the control panell the wifi button is active but does nothing.

Cca 3 days ago she upgraded to iOS 7.0.2 - no effect.

She also has problems with the energy consumption, meaning: after a full charge in the evening, by around 11 am the next day, the battery is on 5-10%. I know there are things to do to decrease energy consumption, but still... With iOS6 this wasn't so bad.

1 day ago when she checked the phone sometime during the day, she realised the battery emptied completely during the night and the phone shut down. The shut down period could be a few hours. She pluged in, restarted and suddenly she had a green wifi button in settings, and she could turn on the wifi. But she didn't find the home wifi network, not even by searching it by name. All the wifi did was showing the blue (?) rotating sign of searching for a network.

During the day she restarted the phone for some other reason (with the lock button). The phone didn't want to shut down normally so she pushed the restart button again. This time the phone restarted normally and the wifi worked and also found the home networ without any other extra trick.

It's been about 24 hours since, and the wifi works uninterrupted.
