Hi, I installed on my iphone IOS 7 but now wifi doesn't work. It doesn't find any wifi connections around me. Please help me! What can I do?
I mean, what if my wife went to her old Mom's house? should my Son's grandma have to update her wireless router for my wife's phone to connect? Should we tell starbucks to update their router firmware? That makes absolutely no sense and is rediculous!
We migrated to iOS because it just works. That's the only thing it has going for it. My time's too precious to be a tech guru. If I have to go back to that I'll just go back to android. It's cheaper and they have a much larger user base. The former's better for browsing forums like this to find a way to work my problem.
I reset the network settings, removed the apostrophe, and did the hard restart. I called Apple for support and they said it hasn't really been an issue. They suggested my next attempt to reset my phone. Has anyone been having this problem and reset their whole iPhone 4S and had the wi-fi working? I don't know if it is worth it to reset my whole phone if the wi-fi problem will not be fixed. Not only that, I do not have a large celluar data plan and rely on wi-fi very much at college. Please fix Apple!!
I have this issue on my iPhone 4 an interestingly on my MacBook Pro after installing the latest update for OSX.
Both of them say they are connected under wifi settings but neither are getting an IP address assigned via DHCP. If I manually assign an IP, subnet, router Ip and DNS manually then they both work fine.
I would agree Apple have broken something and manually assisting IP addresses isn't something everyone is comfortable with.
Best thing to do, if you have another working IOS device, is to take the network details from it (settings wifi then click on the wifi network you are connected to). That will show you the details you need. You just need to use those details on your non working device, but increment the first IP address by say 5 so that it is unique.
This may be harder on a corporate or uni network but at home it should be fine.
I hope that is of some help.
You apparently don't understand. It's a different issue entirely related to iOS only and not OSX as WIFI isn't even accessible on iOS 7 so it's futile to even try and take note of non-working settings, or enter working ones piecemeal.
In addition to the wifi button not working, and no wifi access since upgrading my 4S to IOS 7, my Bluetooth is now not working. It just spins around but will not connect. Have tried every remedy mentioned. Need this fixed quickly. Anyone else lost Bluetooth? This all waited until 2 days after the upgrade to become a problem. Things were working fine until today.
My 4S failed after installed IOS7, what a fake!. Keyboard does not work, it frozen by 1 day. Now I can not connect to any WI FI , neither can connect to bluetooth device. Who will be answers all ours question? I reset many times but still same problem. Time to send Iphone 4s to the waste 😠basket?
My bluetooth does not work , same with wi fi . After install iOS7 all does not work, contacts, phone crash, frozen for one day, it is a disaster. Where are the developers?
removing the apostrophe, turnnung on/off airpaline mode, resetting, turnning iphone on off, Standing on one foot, turnning to the left twice and the right once, pointing the compuss to the east; are all examples of folk programming.
None of this has anything to do with WIFI.
Apple needs to experience this and find out what is different with an IOS7 update to IOS6.
When this is repatable to them they will begin looking for the sw bug.
My iPhone 5 upgrade from IOS6 to IOS7 is not connecting at all to my Netgear 802.11 a/b/g/n router using the 2.4G connection. (I have tried all possible solutions) But It has been working for 24 hours using the 5G connection. This is an issued with iPhone's wifi connection software.
I see two thing that is consistent with all our WIFI issues.
But subsequent connections fail or will not sustain.
In the code: A check is made to verify if the candidate network was ever connected to in the past. If so it uses the stored connection object that was established at the time. Then, using that "stored connection object", it tries to re-connect. Right here something is different that when the original connection was made. A different path; perhaps the stored connection object is getting clobbered, or the access to is not functioning correctly.
Apple needs to look here "at this place in the code" for potential issues.
So are people going to pay the $199 for a replacement iPhone 4S if your warranty is over -- even though the update was responsible for the wifi and Bluetooth problems? My data plan is not going to be enough since I have always relied on wifi at work and home. Any idea how long we should wait for a fix? Shouldn't Apple address this immediately? If enough people agree to pay the $199 for a replacement then we are giving in and Apple won't do anything for us. So disappointed in Apple! Hardware issue only resulted because I was dumb enough to trust their download. Apple support said an update to iOS7 was likely to come out this weekend since so many people have no wifi anymore but so far nothing....
Neither my iPad or iPhone 5 running IOS7 will connect to my wifi. It worked fine before I loaded IOS7.
I'll join the crowd...my 4S lost wifi just like everyone else. Luckily, I had 2 weeks left on a 90-day replacement iphone warranty. Apple is sending me a new relpacement, but said that they have recieved no other complaints of this type with the ios 7 update.😠
This does not work. The button is not accessible. When asking Siri to turn on wifi the response is that it is turned on but checking settings wifi is still turned off and unable to be turned on.
Same here. The Wifi button in Settings is greyed out and not accessible. When asking Siri to turn on wifi the response is that it is turned on but checking settings wifi is still turned off and unable to be turned on.
