Hi, I installed on my iphone IOS 7 but now wifi doesn't work. It doesn't find any wifi connections around me. Please help me! What can I do?
Apple is currently in the process of working on fixes for Wi-Fi bugs. Bug reports submitted to Apple would help for specific issues. You can file one at bugreoort.apple.com.
Sorry, that's bugreport.apple.com, the process is very easy.
iphone4 (ios7) Wifi not searching.
I tried all these steps.
1. Reset Network Settings (with or without turning on airplane mode).
2. Remove apostrophe from name.
3. Did hard reset also.
4. restore with itunes.
5. update firmware of router.
Still bad luck. My iphone4 catch signals only when i'm very near to the router. And i cant contact apple centre b/c i'm from pak.
What to do? Please help me. I'm really fed up from this situation. -_____-
To Danifrompak,
I've noticed recently that my iphone5 (ios7.0.4) is not listing out SSIDs of my neighbors anymore.
My PC's Wifi search tells me these neighboring Wifi stations are about 23% power.
So what if, just what if, Apple has implemented some kind of power saving code that keeps a record of the neighboring Wifi's sees that I don't join into those wifis everytime, then simply don't display them?
Or, ios7.0.x does not display SSIDs of lesser strength, let's say, lesser than 25% strength?
Or both, ie don't list out SSIDs that we don't log into, and don't list out SSIDs that have weaker strength.
If this is true, then if for some reason we don't join our own wifi router successfully, this code may stop displaying our wifi router after multiple failed attempts.
I have seen this effect at my friend's house. After I typed in the wrong password many times, that wifi router's SSID no longer shows.
So how do we work with a router that doesn't get its SSID shown?
We change the SSID to another name for the time being.
We also change the security to none for the time being.
If we can log in with these settings, then we change the settings back to what they were before.
Give it a try, and let's see what happens.
Check out this article, follow it step by step. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199. It explains how to properly set up your router/base station with iOS and OS X. First, reset your router/base station to factory defaults (requires using a reset button on the device, or through the web setup utility).
Still no Wifi after upgrading to IOS 7
I tried everything suggested here and all over the Internet, spent about 3 days on this if I combine all the hours I put into this and nothing, I still don't have wifi on my wife's iPhone 4, walked over to the Apple store and I was told that my solution was to buy a new iPhone, since mine is already out of warranty. Really?
Those people here trying to justify Apple wont' help on these matters, they did something wrong and have to fix it, they obviously need to do a lot of work when it comes to pushing out updates to their users for both IO's and OS X. their process still needs a long way to match Microsoft's patch tuesday. I hope they come out clean on this one, otherwise they will loose my trust on them. A good product is not only having good design.
Just to keep the numbers up my GF ipad 3gen failed a couple of days ago with the no wifi thing but will sometimes connect to my iphone's hotspot for a short time but have noticed a speed issue and range issue in the short time it works. I have tried most of the ideas suggested, as a Apple family we have several ipads and a lot of iphones but I also feel they will be the last Apple products we purchase.
PS: I would like to add we were waiting with cash ready to purchase 3 iphone 6's outrite when released next year.
I am sorry to say it but you will have to wait for a later iOS software update, if all the troubleshooting articles have failed. A newer version (can't bee too specific for obvious reasons) should be coming soon, as this is a major issue. Why not file a bug report if you haven't done so yet, and be specific to your case. https://bugreport.apple.com/
Yea it say's you must be a developer to use it. I will just have to wait.
If you have a free developer account (signing up is free), you may file a bug report. If you have a paid iOS developer membership, head over there and see what is available to you
This is pathetic. Charge premium for your product and get free Q&A work from your Customers. I have never witnessed so many trial and error troubleshooting in my life. This is technology, not magic. Here's how to solve most Apple issues: PUT IT IN YOUR FREEZER!!! ??? OMG.
1. Disable the service.
2. Click your heels three times while chanting "Apple is the best!" (you have to do it with passion, otherwise it won't work).
3. Re-enable the service.
If that doesn't fix it, try another possible fix:
1. Disable the service.
2. Change all your computing devices to Apple requirements, regardless... DO IT, DO IT NOW!
3. Reset your Apple device to factory condition (imagine if we had to do that with computers and laptops everytime there was an issue).
4. DO NOT CUSTOMIZE the device in any way as it may render it nonfunctional. As long as it stays in "factory condition" it will most likely work... almost.
If that doesn't work, then change everything to NEW Apple products being careful to follow #4 above.
Pffft... Doubtful if this post will survive the infamous Apple Community Message Board Gestapo (or iACMBG).
BTW - on a serious note - I just told my CEO to just "deal with it" to his iOS7 issue because there is no real fix for it. He will just have to let his device retry over and over and over until the stars line up or something magical that makes it work or put it in the freezer or whatever LOL.
Exactly my feelings! I refuse to be forced to upgrade another iphone before I should have needed to ... I explained my situation to Apple and they just ignored me ... I explained it to Samsung and they gave me a new Galaxy S4 for the upgrade price and I LOVE THIS PHONE!! I have had it for a month now and wish I would have switched a long time ago. SOOOOOO, thanks Apple for killing my dedication to your company. One phone down and three more Apple phones, two iPods and 2 iMacs soon to be replaced .... I was just getting ready to buy two new laptops when this occurred ... bye Apple..
The phone you mentioned above is only $199 to begin with for a 16 g which you can add another 64g sd card to and replace the battery if needed....unlike others. You know what I'm getting at. I can't mention names because I am on the soon to be booted from the boards list.
Let's stay on topic, only Apple products are to be mentioned here.
