wifi doesn't work with IOS 7

Same Problem. iPhone 4s. Update to iOS 7. Result: No Wifi connection. No Bluetooth. No help from Apple Support. Congratulation Apple. You love your customers!

They sure do! Name me another tech company that provides a 55% discount on an out-of-warranty replacement device.

If you don't like the fact that you're outside of warranty and not eligible for a wireless carrier upgrade, then call Apple Support and ask very, very politely for them to grant an exception.

TJBUSMC1973 you constantly and consistently miss the entire point of this whole discussion. Apple released a faulty IOS. It will not accept responsibility for the problems this blunder has caused its customers. It is not a warranty issue and never was. It is matter of Apple owning up to its mistake and making it right with the customer regardless of whether it ruined a warranteed phone or iPad or a non-warranteed phone/iPad. The release of this IOS was premature based on profitability promiese it made to stockholders. And because it doesn't want to take any more of a hit, it won't admit it has ruined the phones of many customers and only in rare cases will it make it 100% right with a full and complete repair or replacement. Get off your warranty speel. You're way off base in this discussion.

I hope my story will be usefull for some of you.

I got a problem with wifi in mid January (so, not right after I updated iOS to version 7). One of a sudden connection just disappeared. I tried reseting connection settings (didn't help), hard reseting the phone (didn't help), turning on and off airplane mode in certain sequence (didn't help). Then I just decided to wait for an iOS update, hoping it will solve the problem. Recently, after about 4 weeks without a wifi, iphone picked it up again and was connected (before it wasn't even detecting any networks).

After working properly for two days wifi disappeared again in the same way. This time, feeling that the phone itself is quite warm, I just placed it in the freezer for about five minutes. And it helped. Right now it's working fine. Not sure for how long 🙂 But I hope for the best.

So it's seems pretty clear that iOS 7 causes hardware overheat for some 4s devices. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next update (I just can't afford to carry around a portable freezer with me).

This Wi-Fi chip failing issue is nuts. I just finished chatting with some support guy and he really didn't seem to think it was an issue. Maybe I was too nice about it but he said that Apple sells billions of devices worldwide and this is hardly an epidemic. So I guess Apple really isn't worried about their products failing.

When less than one out of one thousand of a particular unit production has a defect, then the normal warranty process is more than sufficient. And when the manufacturer is offering replacements for out of warranty devices for less than half the full retail cost, that's a major concession on their part.

Tech companies aren't required to offer a discount on a replacement for a device that is outside of the warranty period.

I wasn't trying to sound like I was complaining. Just disapppointed really. I understand that just because they are Apple they aren't subject to treating their customers with expired warranties any differently than any other tech company. I just really would like a way to prove this issue one way or the other once and for all. I would like a way to test my device to see if it truly has faulty hardware. I would like to test it on an older iOS like I used to be able to before iOS 7. I would just really like a way to find closure for this subject for everyone experiencing it.

I was having a problem forever connecting to Wi-Fi do to iOS 7. I have tried just about every suggestion online possible. But what a brilliant man at radio shack told me was you need to press a button on your router called WPS. If you do not have WPS on the back of your router you need to get a router that does have that and connect it to your router. This is the only thing that has worked. Most of the Internet companies have not updated their systems as of yet it seems. I really hope this helps someone as I was very very frustrated.

Restoring to a previous backup and doing a reset (power button+home button simultaneously until Apple logo appears on screen) seem to have done the trick... for now...

Here's an update... the above worked, kind of. I went from having no wifi to having spotty wifi.
