Iphone 4s ios 7 battery issues

I posted this question in the basics forum, but it probably belongs here: Since installing iOS 7 on my iPhone 4s, the battery life seems to be significantly reduced, at least judging by how quickly my battery life percentage meter keeps dropping. I've gone through and turned off all sorts of settings, like location services on most everything, etc. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue? Anyone know of any fixes?

Hi,

Here the same problem with 4S.

I have noticed that battery is draining much more on 3g internet connection than over WI-FI. But still is WAY to much in both cases.

Apple please allow us to downgrade to iOs 6 please...

My iPhone 4s was such a nice phone and now is slower... and this battery life...

Upgrading to iOs 7 was a terrible mistake :-(

Well coming on here has confirmed my thoughts I'm horrified at how quick my battery has been dying since downloading this software. I have been watching it go down at around 5% per half hour it has caused me some extreme irate and scary situations this weekend when I have been left with no phone and no communication with my children I even had to go and sit in a information centre and borrow a charger from a worker there. I can't even go for longer than 3 hours away from a charger and I'm not even using the phone. As a self employed driving instructor I need my phone on at all times to receive new business so unless Apple do something about this quick I'm going to have to get an alternative phone for the remainder of my contract and if I can't use my iPhone for the duration of the 24 month contract I had to sign up for then I won't be taking them up on another 24month contract that's for sure even though I've been an iPhone user since they first hit the uk. Oh and I'm also having a problem with deleting emails of my phone I can't seem to edit and click on any of the mail to delete any more than 1 at a time is anyone else having this problem??

One question has came up in my mind. Does anyone know how to open a technical report to Apple? Do we need to ask a Genius at Apple Store to open it for us? Is out there a iOS developer that can report this issue to Apple? It'd be very appreciated!

This problem should have a short life, it's unreal. Tech specs on Apple website says iPhone 4s should last 9 hours in wi-fi, actually lasts 2 hours max! Do they ever test so long???

OK I have done two days battery test on my iphone 4s with ios 7.

So first day I had all new features turned on - Result 38% battery after whole day (normally I end up my working a day with 70-80% battery state)

Next day I had all new features turned off (really everything what you can turn off) Result??? Almost the same... 32%... and I have not used the phone so much.

So do not listen to those stupid advices about turning off all new features which suppose to save your battery, because it's simply not true!!!

Apple please! We need update ASAP

After a few days of trying different things I have discovered that along with all the things I mentioned in my previous post that two additional activities have improved my battery performance.

1) force restarting the 4S, this is the process that requires holding down the home and sleep buttons until the phone restarts, I always do this until the phone restarts twice

2) disabling bluetooth, I use a bluetooth keyboard and headset and have for years now kept bluetooth on this phone on... now that it is easier to disable and reenable when needed using control-center I have disabled it and seen between 5-10% battery improvement at the end of the day.

Even with all these things and most of the system location services disabled I am still down 10-20% at the end of a normal usage day, but at least I am not hitting 1% and shutdown 3-4 hours before the end of a normal usage day.

I upgraded my Iphone 4 and 4s to iOS7. So far Iphone 4 battery life seems okay. However, 4s battery life has gone down significantly. It wont even last 1 day with minimal use.

I agree with Tailgragon's analysis, even I noticed that my 4s was charged from 4% to 66% in 20-25 mins.

Is there any official word from Apple? are we expecting a hot fix or something?

I think the biggest bug bear is that we can not go back to a working OS on these devices. This is a policy that I just don't understand. Especially when they don't have a working OS at the moment.

Once it is working we are all going to move up to the new version again, I don't think there is any doubt about that, just give us the ability to get back to a working system. Seeing as the battery life is the most important thing on any phone, when your new OS seems to cut it in half, you should give your customers at least one more choice.
