Iphone 4s ios 7 battery issues

I posted this question in the basics forum, but it probably belongs here: Since installing iOS 7 on my iPhone 4s, the battery life seems to be significantly reduced, at least judging by how quickly my battery life percentage meter keeps dropping. I've gone through and turned off all sorts of settings, like location services on most everything, etc. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue? Anyone know of any fixes?

Can you tell me how to ban you so I don't have to have your posts fill up my email inbox. I went into your profile and it says I will not receive updates when you post, but if I want to stay tuned to this battery thread, does that mean I still have to listen to you? Please let me know if there is a way to ignore you. And if you can do it without executing another post, that would be even better. Many thanks.

In the US, there are 3rd party support services that will replace the battery for much less. Some even have mall kiosks. In my case, it was clearly a hardware issue. Apple may test it for free and then offer to replace it for a fee. My suggestion is to get the test to see if you have a hardware issue. Then, decide if you want to get a 3rd party to fix it for less money than Apple or but a booster pack or case. If your battery does not test as failed, then you probably do have a software issue.

A long time ago when this thread was in its early stages, Dariusz777 post some things to try. I tried everything on his list with a few issues so I have since elected to do only the things that really affect battery life. Here is what I have done, and it seems to be working for me. I use to loose %30 battery with 2 hours of taking my phone off the charger, wich by the way is still less than a year old. Iphone 4s try this.

1. Bluetooth Off

2. General

- Accessibility > Reduce motion ON

- Background App Refresh, total OFF

- Wallpaper - ONLY STILLS no animated walls allowed :-)

- Auto Brightnes OFF (control center should be sufficient)

5. Privacy

- Privacy > Location Services > System Services TURN EVERYTHING HERE OFF especially FREQUENT LOCATIONS

Standard location services for all aplications can remain active

- Privacy > Advertising > Limit Ad Tracking, switch to ON

6. iTunes & App Store

Turn OFF automatic Updates! (this pull son the battery to to the constant need to be online checking for updates on the app store.)

If you have an Iphone 5c, or 5s most of this will not affect your battery life those phones have a differant battery designed to handle the workload. If you newer phone is having and issue, then take it to your apple retailer, or carrier to find out if it is a faulty battery..

I am not big into taking pictures with my 4S but now that you mention it when I did try to take pictures using either camera or camera+ the app would shut down whenever I had the app in auto mode or flash on mode, it would only work if the flash was off - but that is another story. I use my Canon EOS 60D for my picture taking so this probem was not on my radar, but now that you brought it up ....

I disagree with having to buy a new battery, however understand that some people feel they have no choice. Can I recommend that rather than give you hard earned money to Apple to buy a 2nd battery! You buy a new case with a built in battery. This will double your battery life, is cheaper and offers more protection. Downside your phone is a little bigger, but not much..

Just an option to consider.
