Iphone 4s ios 7 battery issues

I posted this question in the basics forum, but it probably belongs here: Since installing iOS 7 on my iPhone 4s, the battery life seems to be significantly reduced, at least judging by how quickly my battery life percentage meter keeps dropping. I've gone through and turned off all sorts of settings, like location services on most everything, etc. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue? Anyone know of any fixes?

Look at the evidence. You said you already replaced the battery but it didn't make a difference. The issue only occurred when you went to IOS7. Look at how many others have/are experiencing battery problems since going to IOS7.

I too had issues, however I done a full reset and downloaded the upgrade again, which improved my battery performance back to close to what it was prior to IOS7. It seems not everyone has been that lucky with reports that it works for some and not others.

I believe IOS7 is more resource hungry than previous versions and if Apple just admitted that, it would explain what's happening. Problem is they don't and continue to say its more efficient when all the evidence suggests otherwise.

If you could downgrade to IOS6 - would you? I am betting many would and that alone tells you it's not hardware it's software as people know that going back would fix there issue!

I also face overheating but tigertone they both run the same OS so if it's not hardware then the two iPhone I have must run on different types of iOS. One thing I have noticed that is different between my two 4s are that if I have headphones plugged in and play music that when you put the volume to full the last 4 squares turn red while my other 4s stays normal? Could this show that they are running slightly different iOS versions?

This is BS. The same thing happened when ios6 launched. We shouldn't have to turn features off on our phones to make them "work". We pay a premium for apple products because they are supposed to be reliable. Apple purposely gives the users limited flexibility for this reason.

I have a 4S, which I use seldomly. I am lucky if I have 20% remaing at the end of the day -horrible compared to the the last revised ios6. I am the owner of an iPhone 4s, an ipad2 and a iPad mini. I am loosing faith in apple products...I think it's time to give the droid phones a go

sorry, I did not mean to belittle the issue or any one person's experience with this issue. I simply meant to offer a vote of confidence in Apple products generally which is what I thought Shao Lung was doing. I have several customers and several friends who have been impacted by this issue, although I personally have not. I'm using an iPhone 4.

I've just received a new iPhone 5S through work. I decided to test it out before installing anything at all on it. The battery life is not great. It is better than 4S on iOS 7 but not as good as 4S on iOS 5 or 6.

Until the day I installed iOS 7 4S had 7-8 hours of usage and about 1 day of standby.

iPhone 5S with iOS 7 is getting about 5.5 hours of usage and about 1 day of standby.

My 4S with iOS 7 gets about 3-4 hours usage and never makes it through a whole day.

I'm going to restore my backups to the iPhone 5S and see what the battery life is in the next day or two and I'll report the results.
