Iphone 4s ios 7 battery issues

I posted this question in the basics forum, but it probably belongs here: Since installing iOS 7 on my iPhone 4s, the battery life seems to be significantly reduced, at least judging by how quickly my battery life percentage meter keeps dropping. I've gone through and turned off all sorts of settings, like location services on most everything, etc. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue? Anyone know of any fixes?

I have come to this conclusion, after so many posts being deleted, that this whole dead battery and ios7 is not apples fault,, they have a perfect record, and can do NO wrong. We the consumers are to blame for all of this, and it is our fault for not devoting enough time to understanding the outstanding quality of the great wonderful world of apple, and their perfect products. I say we should all first buy a new battery for our iphone 4/4s, and then rush out real quick and purchase a new iphone.. while we are at it, we should buy a new mac book pro, a new ipad, and a new ipod, never sparing any expense, for these wonderful and perfect tools apple is so conveniently supplying to us consumers. If it wasn't for the grand priviledge apple provides us, the meager consumer, to indulge in their fine products, we would be without user friendly products, and be stuck using some product which cannot compare to the wonderous world apple provides each and everyone one of us. I personally would like to thank apple, for the great prodcuts they supply, and I apologise for my inability to understand such high quality operating systems, and technilogical genious.

😉

Apple is so great!

I have gotten rid of my iPhon 4s, and I am about to rush out and buy the newest, the latest, the greatest of apple products. I am going to go into debt because apple products are so wonderful, and I cannot live without such high quality. Since there is no greater customer service in any industry,I find life is not worth living without my apple products.

I suffered the exact same astronomical-battery-drain issue after deciding to give up my beloved JB'ed state (5.0.1) and move up to 7.0.4 on Sunday. After trying the googled 'solutions' of "7 ways to reduce drain" or "11 ways" I saw that they weren't helping.

But - good news! (at least for me) - it is now fixed as of last night thanks to reading someone's suggestion (from somewhere in this thread, I think) to not "restore from a previous backup" after completing the firmware installation.

Yes, it's a pain having to download all the Apps again, and lose Messages/PhoneCall history (probably because I wasn't using iCloud).. but at least the battery is operating normally again.

I no longer feel frustrated/perplexed about what could've been causing the battery drain, because my phone is now running fine with the latest firmware.

Yes, it's true that I don't have the battery-drain issue any more. Maybe other people's phones are different but the reason I signed up for an account just so I could post to this forum is to let others, that are in the same painful boat as I was, know that there is a solution - and I give credit to 'yzzyx' on page 23 because it never occurred to me to not restore my phone backup immediately after updating the firmware. Just make sure you backup all the files and data configs you can before updating.. I had my photos and QuickOffice docs so that was enough for me.

If you're on ios6 and don't want to risk it with ios7 then I say wait.. in my case, I'd waited long enough between updates and some of my fav apps were starting to report that they need minimum-ios6.

My iphone 4s is 2 years old.. I bought it in Nov11 on 24mth contract, and now that I'm off-contract, I'm waiting for a better iphone release than the 5s before I get on another contract.

I think - ok, i'm almost sure - it's a software problem. I had the problem and it went away. No new iPhone, no new battery, nothing changed the hardware.

I guess it's caused by a combination of how iOS7 handles background activity and apps that don't work the way they should work. This makes finding a solution very difficult, since a combination of things have to happen in order to trigger the bug.

In my case turning of mail fetching (no push or scheduled) resulted in the iPhone battery lasting 3 days (opposed to not even 6 hours). After a few days I turned mail fetching on (every 15min) and now my iPhone battery lasts almost 2 days (back to normal) - with WiFi, bluetooth, 3G enabled.
