keypad tone heard during phone call

Recently when placing or receing calls on my iPhone 5 (running iOS7 and previous version) I hear what sounds like someone hitting a number button coming across my speaker. The other caller cannot hear this, but I can. It's not me accidentially hitting it, it's like a phantom tone somehow making it's way through my call. I have recently swapped out my old iPhone 5 due to an issue and apple replaced it with a new one... It never did this before.

Does anyone have a simple fix for this? Otherwise I may have to go in again...

Same problem, and it's not the proximity sensor either. I have scoured the internet and seen others complaining about this, but not one person seems to know the answer.

It is very annoying when during the middle of a call this keytone sound blairs out all sound.

Anyway, it would be great if anyone on the planet has the knowledge and exact cause of this issue.

I have had this happen with iPhone 4, 4s and two Iphone 6. I have AT&T their suggestion is to change my number which I have had for 11 years. I have also lived in 2 separate states and traveled around the US and it constantly happens. It is embarrassing and annoying. I have also had a Microcell installed at my house to see if that would help even though it makes the beeping noise even on the road. i have my sim card upgraded. No answers from AT&T or Apple, but I am glad I am not alone with this issue. My husband has the same phone and has never had this issue!

I'm almost certain it's an indication that the call on the other end may disconnect as they have reached 1 bar cell signal status. This issue has carried over every version of iPhone and all iOS I can remember so, I think it has to be a programmed indication. I have tested it with another person and it seems to match what I suggest, can anyone else confirm my results? It should beep (dial tone) when the other phone reaches 1 bar. It may only be iPhone to iPhone though (thats what I tested). Hope this helps but, I'm pretty sure it can't be fixed as I assume it's a built in feature (not a bug or hardware issue) either on iOS phone app or within most cellular companies (I'm on Rogers).

This has happened to my phones for a few years, and it's not an "Apple" thing.

It does it on my Apple and Android phones (I have to have Android for testing). I've been told it's a network issue. I'm in the UK so not on the American networks.

If this is phone-related, seems odd both my phones are doing it. I've replaced/upgraded them over the years, and they still do it. I've not been able to determine a pattern (call length etc).
