An unknown error occurred (-45054)
My wife's iTunes repeatedly gives "An unknown error occurred (-45054)" when she reboots her 2 month old iMac. How do I trace down this error?

I'm getting the same error...did the verify and repair permissions, did the Get Info access thing, removed and reinstalled iTunes, everything I've seen in these posts and elsewhere - and I am STILL getting the error.
I'm on a 2006 MacPro running 10.6.8...could that be it? If so, where can I get an older copy of iTunes?
Hi
Thanks for this. Sorted out the problem straight away. Really do appreciate your advice.
Can go back to listening to my bad music again!
Sorry, I made disk repairs a dozen times, but errors came always back, and I can still not open iTunes.
Thanks for help
Your help was great! I'm so thankful there are people out there who are willing to share their knowledge!! Thanks, Dennis. You need to write manuals:)
Sorry all, sorry Dennis, but it did not resolve may problem :-(
What if were on a school lap top
Diskutil repair permissions didn't solve my problem
I tried this:
http://fixed1t-mac-support.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/fixing-itunes-you-do-not-have- enough.html
My issue was solved by recreating the /User/Shared folder as it suggests. I first moved the broken one out of the way. Afterwards I moved back all the old Shared/subfolders to the new Shared, except for 'SC Info' and 'adi'.
When I looked at my old /User/Shared folder's permissions, there were added ACL entries that were not on the newly recreated one. I think iTunes/System may have newer security contriants which are now tripping over bad ACL's that came from 'improperly' restoring /Users folders in an older Mac OS X Mountain Lion environment/libs which are being transitioned to Maverick.
Recently I have had ACL issues with other non-permission-repairable-by-diskutil folders. It may be a transition security "fix" which may well work when/if we all drink the Mavericks cool-aid. Needs more sugar.
Incredible! It solved my prob with itunes too. Many thanks !!!
My OS X is 10.8.5. After I updated to iTunes 11.1.3, it occured error -45054.
Did the Repair Disk Permissions and it worked for me, many thanks.
the video on the link did it for me. Thanks
Wonderful! The link above no longer works, but once I had removed completey /Users/Shared and then recreated an empty folder with the right unix permissions, iTunes could then download apps from the Apps Store without giving the 45054 error. No amount of Disk Utility / Fix Permissions was able to fix it.
Those permssions and groups seem to be:
drwxrwxrwx 4 root wheel 136 May 21 13:11 Shared
Who knew it had anything to do with Users/Shared???
Thanks for the hint!
I just found the only thing you need to set for the /Users/Shared folder is, Everyone-Read & Write. I just happened to have been setting up a Linux box playing with permissions and stumbled on this when it knocked out iTunes with the above error.
I tried only the folder +perms on my Mac and it wouldn't work until I followed the recipe I described above. Your mileage on linux may vary.
This worked for me. I'm glad I didnt have to go into the terminal and rebuild the shared folder, great catch Joulesbee!!
