An unknown error occurred (-45054)
My wife's iTunes repeatedly gives "An unknown error occurred (-45054)" when she reboots her 2 month old iMac. How do I trace down this error?

Worked for me. Thank you!!
This worked for me. I tried repairing disk permissions to no avail. What you shared works great. Must unhide the system files first using defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES then relaunching Finder.
Thanks; changing permissions on /adi worked for me, where Disk Utility did not.
Has anyone checked to see what the /adi permissions are on a Mac that has never had this problem?
FWIW this happened after I did a Time Machine restore. I triggered the error when I tried to update apps in iTunes.
This worked for me. Thank you very much, j_silva_I.
It also works with Yosemite.
I fixed the bug in my brand new iMac running on Yosemite 10.10.2 in French.
Thanks
I had a similar (but slightly different) problem with a new iMac (late 2013) with Yosemite. What I got it I transferred all my data from my old iMac (late 2009) to the new.
While using the tips in this thread I found that I had two adi folders. One was named simply aid and the other adi (from old mac). I took a wild guess and moved the aid folder to trash and renamed the adi (from old mac) to simply adi
Relaunched iTunes and everything was back to normal!
Hope this helps
Thanks everyone!
I did both suggestions and did a restart and am now back to business!
I also use an external for my iTunes and Time Machine so I also set the permissions to everyone on that as well. After the restart its working again.
Awesome! This just worked for me.
This is my first Mac and I thought it was related with the permissions of my account, but now everything works.
I was actually having the same problem with iBooks, but works now as well.
I did the disk repair and the folder settings.
Thank you!
Yes!! Thank you, Micah. I had transferred my user account to a new iMac using Migration Assistant and found that I could not purchase anything from the iTunes Store on the new computer (error -45054). Changing the permissions on the adi folder fixed the problem instantly.
Thanks ! I was searching for hours, your solution fixed everything. 🙂
