An unknown error occurred (-45054)

My wife's iTunes repeatedly gives "An unknown error occurred (-45054)" when she reboots her 2 month old iMac. How do I trace down this error?

RAIZ\Usuarios\Compartido\adi

45054 ERROR in iTunes

This error does not allow iTunes ACCESS, downloads and updates for the Apps there managed in sync with iPad or iPhone ... is generated by a failure in the restoration of the SHARED folder " adi ":

ROOT \ Users \ Shared \ adi

This folder "adi", you will notice that has a red circle with a minus sign inside, which apparently indicates that the user's account, does not have privileges to modify.

So it simply, you must position the cursor on the folder adi

1) Open the pop-up window with the mouse (or two fingers on the mouse pad)

2) Choose REFER

3) Observed a lock in the bottom right corner of the window, CLOSED

4) Click on the lock and provide the User Password

5) You will see that on the left lock "Privilege" appears and ...

only reads SYSTEM Privilege: Read and Write and other users: DENIED

6) Must be modified DENIED them the privilege to read and write to the other accounts

7) We click on the lock again to close it...and...PROBLEM SOLVED

(At least on OS X 10.9.3 Mavericks it work for me)

This was the solution that worked for me. I only had the problem when trying to rent a movie (probably would have also occurred when attempting to buy anything from the app store). Funny thing is, I caused the problem when cleaning up my SSD a little too aggressively. I had used the Shared folder years ago, but wasn't any longer. Thought I could just delete it, but the OS complained. Didn't think anything of it since I had deleted all the folders. Changing privileges on it fixed the problem.

Thank you, @j_silva_l!

The process of manually changing permissions worked for me. Here's what I did:

1. Searched for adi on "this Mac" by opening a finder window and typing adi in search box

2. Right click or control-click the adi folder and choose Get Info

3. Click lock at bottom right (so you can change settings) enter password

4. Set all users (I had system, wheel, and everyone) to Read & Write

5. Click lock to close

6. iTunes works again! At least for me.

HTH.
