After updating my Iphone5 to iOS 7, iPhoto does not connect to iPhone as camera

so I cannot sync my photos. What can be the problem? Image capture does not connect to iPhone as camera, too.

It wasn't that long and it wasn't a rant. It was both an answer to previous commenters and to myself as to the true problem. And a complaint about this issue, and others, expressing my honest displeasure. NOTHING about iOS7 has proven to be an upgrade. The UI is clunky, unattractive, and counter intuitive... The opposite of what Apple has been known for since I started using them as monochromatic display beige boxes. The only apparent "improvement" is Apples ability to deny all third party accessories (even ones they sold me!?). This upgrade is all for them and none for us! :(. And no the latest upgrade does nothing to help this.

I have iOS7.02.

My Chase bank ap stopped working too. Chase already had along list of issues with iOS7 logged. The fix was easy... Accept cookies... But lots of aps and features broke or went missing. All my games got shoved into the Game Center that I hate. Stupid ham fisted efforts to force the user into the designated iBox. It's behavior like this that makes many not like Starbucks (venti, tall, etc.) and Microsoft. Sad to see Apple going this route. Hopefully someone is noting all the negative comments online.

Yes. I have the latest of iPhoto, iTunes, Mac OSX 11, and iOS 7. And rebooted and everything else. The behavior has been spotty but exactly as described by others. That is not every time does my phone ask me to trust the computer or warn of an unsupported accessory... That is why I didn't stumble on to the cable issue as the cause of iTunes problem until later. But now I do see that swapping chords helps, swapping computers with the same chord brings the problem. So I don't believe this is a bug anymore, but is on purpose. And it is disappointing as it devalues my device if I have to replace all kinds of accessories that made my iPhone such a cool device the first place. What good is the hiking mapping ap if my battery extender won't work? Stuff like that.

Try this: Close both iTunes and iPhoto. Go to your system preferences, then in the sharing section, make sure that your computer name is the same as the one you had when you first configured your iPhone (this has a tendency to place a number at the end and change the computer name). Then go to your library, preferences and delete the iTunes plist file and iPhoto plist file. Restart your computer and everything should be OK.
